You see one, you've seen them all.
Yesterday I told the story about how I came to buy a Ruger Standard 22 semi-auto. About as plain and dull a gun as you can buy. No lights, no lazers, no rails, no cable cars, or pancake grills. Just a good little 22 handgun.
But...BAC said...
So, here you go. Ruger MK III, Standard 22 semi-auto, 4" tapered barrel, fixed sights.
I suspect there is a lot of fun packed in there.

I have an old Mark II and a 22/45. They're both a ton of fun to shoot. I like the 22/45 a little bit better.

The Ruger Standard Auto Pistol - allegedly the pistol of choice for both Mafia hit men and the CIA for years. (Admit it - that's a pretty good endorsement). Great little guns.
I have one and love it - an old Mark 1 before it was called the Mark 1. My favorite gun to shoot. Feed it good ammo and it won't miss a beat. Plus I got it for free. 
Only complaints: It doesn't have a bolt hold-open device but I found that if I open the bolt and put the weapon on safe it does the same thing, except don't load a magazine like that (first round goes nose-up and won't chamber) and it is a pain in the *** to put back together after disassembly.

My dad passed on a 4" tapered barrel MKI to me a few years ago. It is still going strong and gets alot of plinking use, but lately my SP101 in .22 has been getting the most attention.
Mainly because the revolver will cycle a larger variety of .22 ammo.

That looks vaguely familiar!
After sixty some odd years, the basic 4" tapered barrel, fixed sight model is still going strong!
My son and I shot this one a couple weeks ago.....sill just as fun as it was ten years ago!

I bought a well used MKII target model last year and have been shooting the snot out of it ever since. Great fun! Only complaint comes from the wife that it gets heavy after a bunch of rounds. It's got me looking at SR-22's!

There's a very well used MKI at my local haunt, it literally has no finish on it.....$175.
It might be a nice candidate for a pac-lite top end and good company for my MkII.
