C130 At The Airshow

I really didnít think I would enjoy this, but itís kind of interesting.

A C-130 is an older style cargo aircraft.

The J models are brand new. Old design, new version. They are made about 10 miles from my house. The right-seater is a close friend of mine!

I have lots of flights in C130s, plus about 100 take-offs without landings.
Many pleasant memories (and a few not-so-pleasant ones). Threw up a few time when we were doing NOE flights. Judging by that flight I might have used a bag - DID THEY DO A LOOP??????

Herky-birds are amazing!! I almost always enjoyed flying in them. That one flight from Ft Hood to Elmira to Ramstein was the exception. (Loooonnnggg, bring, tiring) The exciting parts was when they shut down two engines to save fuel across the Atlantic.
I also have a few more take-offs than landings in my log-book. I don't believe anyone forgets the first time they stepped off the ramp!
NOE at night ALWAYS scared me more than anything else!

That C130 was unloaded for sure. In one of the views I thought that I saw the back door wide open.
