(since I was changing the but stock and adding the sling plate anyway, this was no big deal). I wiped everything as best I could and then put on a coat of Breakfree CLP. I used bore cleaner and the rifling is nice and shiny. It all went back together fine.

Yeah I compared it to my friends Mak-90 and the wobble was almost none in both I wouldnt even consider it wobble. And I agree on the less front heavy etc.

I'm gonna go out today and pick up some mineral spirits, how would I clean out all the cosmo out of the receiver with the mineral spirits could I use a tooth brush? But then how would I wipe it out or does the mineral spirits even need to be wiped out completely?

You can try to use a toothbrush and mineral spirits I suppose. But, for guns that are really caked in cosmoline---the best thing I've found is putting the gun in a black trash bag, leave it out in the hot sun during the afternoon, then wipe everything down as the cosmoline will run off. I had an SKS that was literally never fired. It probably sat in the same vat of cosmoline for 50 years before I picked it up; cosmoline was everywhere. 2 days of trashbag & wiping later it was good to go.
I've also had success with simple green getting this stuff off. Mineral spirits and running a bunch of rounds through it will probably do the trick though..

Thanks so much for the reply, the cosmoline doesn't seem bad at all, NOTHING like this Wsar-10 I almost bought instead the gun had cosmo running off of it.
I would of already done the trash bag in a car on a hot day trick if only it would get hot enough the weather has been so weird lately the high yesterday was only 67......
How to you recommend wiping the cosmoline out of the receiver once I scrub it down with a tooth brush/mineral spirits.

I stood it up so everything would run down into the tub I was using.

I wiped it down as much as possible and let it drain from the rest.

Just ordered 5 magazines off aim surplus. I was going to order a few hundred rounds of ammo because it was cheap and only added like 3$ to the shipping but you have to fax in your ID and stuff apparently you have to be 21 so I didn't want to have to wait and get my parents to order it. Retarded you have to be 21 to order rifle ammo on that site.

Can anyone measure the distance front the top rail to the top of the front sight post. I'm looking for the measurement of how tall the front sight post sits above the top rail plane on the quad rail.
Thanks!
