2nd N frame this week.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to sell off some of my more mundane and duplicate guns, and put that money into a couple of higher end guns. Earlier I had gotten a 4", Model 29-2 in a face to face transaction. That was a target of oppourtunity, too good to be passed up. This one I had been thinking about, and it really gave me the idea.

Model 25-2, 45 ACP. S/N indicates 1978. Included was a blue Smith&Wesson box with no markings at all, just a plain blue box, papers, cleaning tools, moon clips, sight adjustment tool.

Wow!!!! Verrrrrrrry nice!!

IF memory serves me, that should be a Bangor Punta era S&W.
I bought my beloved 19-4 in '79, and it was a BP gun.

While deciding on the 19-4, I had a mdl 25-2 in my hands and a 25-5 (.45 LC), trying to decide.
Then fondled a mdl 29 (don't remember the dash no.)

The 25-2 was $259.00 and the 25-5 was $279.00.
I wound up with the 19-4, at $249.00.

At the time, the Colt Python was $335.00 for blued w/ 4" barrel, and the S&W mdl 27 was $339.00 (6-1/2").

The store was "Marvin's Sport City" at Iverson Mall. Hillcrest Heights, MD.

Great looking gun! I'm glad to see a moon clipper find a good home.

Cool score.

I have one of those too, purchased new in 1979.

Still have the original wood case and accessories (won't see that again anytime soon).

The 25 in 45acp would make a terrific range gun.......

N frames are just sexy, pure and simple.......

Nice score.

My goodness, those are excellent choices and very pretty revolvers!

I still have two superlative, 'N' frames left from my once extensive collection of Smith & Wesson handguns. I should sell them, too; but, I just can't bring myself to do it. Other shooters have ogled over my Behlert-built Model 27 for decades, now. In a fit of nostalgia I just took it out, snuck it over to Chuck Lutz, and had the action rebuilt. (I think I'm going to start carrying it. I've got the holster and the speedloaders; so why not!)

I'm tempted to go to the safe and post some pictures, too. The S&W Model 27 has a 6" barrel and is Mag-Na-Ported. The action is vapor-honed and shoots like a dream! My S&W Model 29 has an 8" barrel, a very nice action job by a gunsmith whose name I no longer remember, and has the most perfect balance I've ever felt on any handgun. As proof, I've done some of the best handgun shooting of my entire life with this very hard hitting, deadly accurate long-nosed pistol. (A hundred yards is nothing for it!)
