Ok......well.....which optic for my 7.5" SBR?
WoodenPlank has got me contemplating it, and I just sold off another chunk of my knives. I have roughly $700 to spend.
I want something light, unobtrusive, and something that will keep the lines of my little PDW flowing....I mean, I'm not a stickler for looks, but heck, it sure helps to look good while making half the range run for cover after you crank off that first couple shots with this thing (first public range debut- this weekend)....
I'm thinking Aimpoint T1 in Absolute Co-witness LaRue mount, Trijicon RMR (kind not liking the fact I can't find a QD mount for it), and maybe even an EOThingy.....Mine served me well while on my M249 SAW in Iraq back in 2007. I'm sure it contributed to a few shredded martyrs.
What say's the ye 'ole Hive?

Not in my experience, plus that 4MOA dot starts to suck past 50 yards or so. Considering the offhand shots I've made with my 10.5" at 150, you might be surprised the reach you'll get from the 7.5". Definitely 2MOA dot.

Airborne, seriously buddy get the 2-MOA T1 w/ LaRue mount and drive on down the road. If you don't I believe we both know you will just kick yourself later on down the road.

I can't argue with logic. I'm gonna surf the EE on ARFCOM before I pull the trigger....might find someone with a good deal on one.....although I DO need more Dillo Dust.....I'm off on Friday, and if I order from LaRue by Wednesday, I'll actually be home to receive the package........hmm.....

The 2MOA just came out at SHOT in February, so I doubt you'll see too many used ones floating around for sale...

H-1/T-1.
And the standard dot size I can hit with at 250m. The 2 is nice but not absolutely necessary.

that rifle is made for a T-1. just do it and dont look back.
for the 2-MOA vs 4MOA debate, i personally would prefer the 2 MOA. you can crank the brightness if you want a little bigger dot. but the 2 will allow you to do some nice work out to a little farther range.
i have a 4MOA M2 only because it was such a good deal on the EE i couldnt pass it up. I have no problem getting perfect hits at 200 yards although i have to turn the brightness down.

For your needs... I recommend the T-1... it is just the right size for your SBR and I believe you have access to NVG's..

Well, I suppose I'll give LaRue a call tomorrow. If they have the 2 MOA in stock, I'll grab one....if not, 4 MOA T1 it is. I'm gonna try the absolute co-witness mount.....I suppose if I don't like it, Mark will swap it for me.

Green is insanely bright during the day, and bright as heck at night.......
Cost will be about $550 after I buy the ADM QD Mount

Check out Brightflashlights in the industry forum on arfcom. I got my T-1 from him for way lower than any advertized price.

And I had an amber dual illuminated 9moa rmr before and for a rifle it is worthless. The dot washes out when looking from a shaded area to a bright one. Green may fare differently but omoa is universally bad for a rifle.I only found use for it on a shotgun.

I don't plan on using my 7.5" past 100 meters, if that. I'm seriously considering the RMR with the green dot, as it should solve the washout issues. I don't know....still researching, and still thinking about it.
Its either an Aimpoint T1, or the RMR w/ green dot.

I've tried the RMR when it was released, and still in the hands of a Trijicon rep.
I stuck with Aimpoint.

Well, no matter what I keep looking at, I keep coming back to the Aimpoint T1 Micro on a LaRue mount. I'll decide eventually, I suppose. An optic is a LOT of $$ to spend, and I wanna do it right. Will keep ya'll updated, and any input is welcome.

TA44 has eye relief issues the T-1 does not.
I would not put one on an SBR.
