Fired a Wilson Combat that had a 4lb pull, this thing was great but at $260. Which one do you prefer and how much did it cost?

There is a thread on the ALG Defense trigger, it's around 65 bucks and supposed to be quite good. Geisselle is the best, but you pay for it, ALG is his wife's company.

I am really impressed with my 3 pound Timney trigger on my AR build. You can really rapid fire with it, almost like full auto.

The standard USGI trigger tends to get a bad rap but a good quality mil-spec trigger is serviceable to most rifle shooters. The one that came in the parts kit I put in my rifle was decent and I really had no complaints out of it. A lot of AR enthusiasts get caught up in the "gotta have a super awesome-super smooth competition trigger" and plop down money on a part that gives them negligible improvement over the GI trigger.

With that disclaimer, I currently use a Geissele SSA in my carbine. I purchased it because 1) I believe Bill Geissele makes the absolute best aftermarket triggers for AR's and 2) i wanted a more repeatable 2 stage pull on my rifle for shots in the range of 200+ yards. It gives me that. Yes. Is it an improvement over the GI trigger I started with. Debatable.

I can tell you for a fact that the times I shoot on drills (such as VTAC 1/2 and 1/2) have not improved noticeably with the Geissele. If anything, I am more prone to missed pulls with the 2 stage trigger. The area where this trigger shines is laying prone shooting longer distances.

To each his own. Opinions on triggers are all over the map. I for one am a proponent of a good quality USGI trigger unless the purpose of the rifle calls for something else.

I just put a McCormick drop in trigger in mine and it breaks at 3 pounds.

Very true, but once a shooter tries a QUALITY trigger, going back
to a mil-spec trigger is like going from a Cadillac to a Chevette!

Put a Geissele SSA in my patrol rifle and really like it.

Wilson has replaced JP on my go-to rifle.

Frank White makes a two stage competition trigger that breaks at 4.5 lbs. First stage is maybe 3.55 to 4 lbs and the second stage movement is inperceivable. I think it is the best and have it on three of my comp rifles. $125.00 each at Compass Lake, CLE. I also have cmmg two stage and they break at 3.5 lbs. Not competition legal but feels about the same as the Frank White trigger but still not as nice. CMMG about $85.00.

Timney is great!

I use a Geissele SSA for matches and shooting at the range.

I train with a stock trigger because most everything is CQB and I find that the stock trigger is better for that. When I get into a little induced stress with the SSA, it becomes a liability for me.

It was nice but $260, Im hoping to get something around $150 and use another $150 on AFG, extra mags, sling, sling mount, other things. trying to stay in a budget but it was so good that I may save up more and budget for the Wilson later.

My McCormick with the flat bow is everything I could ask for at $160. I have some pretty nice triggers on other non-ARs, and my buddy has a Geissele with the flat bow in one of his ARs, and I think the McCormick compares very favorably.
