Bodyguard 380 Greatest Bug?
Well I just got my brand spanking, amazing looking, sweet shooting M&P 9 Shield but enough threads on it so...
I'm really thinking of purchasing a bug. And I am really liking the BG 380. But would like someone to sell me on it or what are the pros cons of it over all the other 380s out there! Maybe set up advice? Holster or pocket? Accuracy?

Buy a damn good holster like a supertuck or such and a bigger gun and rock that, problem solved, you have a bug, your new spiffy sheild.

You can also look at the 642, LCR, LCP, DB 380 as options for a BUG. Id try to test out the trigger in these first because you dont want to buy it then regret it. DeSantis Holsters is a good pocket option.

I think you just have to hold a bunch of them and pick the one you like.
Do you like the grip, trigger, sights, size, weight? Is the mag release where you want it? Those sorts of things.
One big issue for me, personally, is I don't like a carry gun to have a thumb safety. My ideal carry gun is a Glock 26. As I look for smaller guns, are they similar enough to that? If the mouse gun has a thumb safety, it is too different for my preference. But the Ruger LCP is more similar in just being a draw and shoot gun.
Some may say if you don't like the safety then just don't use it. Fair enough, but we are talking about personal preferences. I'd want to know for sure if the gun is designed to be carried with a round chambered and safety off. And I'd want to know if the safety could ever accidentally be clicked on during carry or draw or handling or racking or confusion under stress. And no matter what, I'd probably still not want it because I wouldn't be convinced
So I'm just mentioning some issues that are important to me. There are a lot of guns to choose from. Identify your own important issues, and that will help to narrow down your choices

Compared to the lcp/p3at i love my bg380. It looks & feels better, has a better trigger, has better sights, locks the slide back, etc....

Thanks this was helpful as well. Maybe practice with the safety and no safety will be best. But most likely wont be using it.

Nope, the sights on the Sig are miles ahead of the Colt.

They are taller and more likely to snag on something. Great plus on tiny pocket gun.
Slide is more angular to make it print through concealment better. Another plus.

BG380 is my pick for the microlights over:
LCP, P3AT, Sig238, Polish P64 - didn't try the DB or Taurus or Kahr minis
Kahr CM9 is still my main git up and go, but BG380 has its place:
- has all the pluses of the LCP/P3AT meaning it's a freaking flyweight handgun, and can be carried when NO slim 9mm could
- REAL sights
- ability to replace stock sights with Night Sights
- empty mag slide lockback
- did not require 200 round breakin to run properly
- SW lifetime Warranty
- I shoot better with it than I did with the others, and find the recoil well-managed and not bad at all
I feel the laser is a bit impractical for defensive use, as it's not instant on like Crimson Trace, but it holds zero and is good for dryfire practice

I've been very happy with the BG380. It goes everywhere with me front pocket carry in a Desantis superfly holster or Blackhawk #03 holster. Shoots all ammo great except that TulAmmo garbage. I had to second strike every other round with that stuff. The laser buttons are crap but the BG community has well informed S&W on the matter. Whether they upgrade the button or not I don't know. That's my biggest gripe but A) I practice with irons 99% of the time and don't rely on the laser too much. B) there's a button on each side so if one doesn't work the other one should. Currently my left side laser button will click on every time but the right one is so mushed that it takes major effort to turn it on.
The takedown pin is extremely tight fitting at first but it does get easier as you break it in a little. The earliest model takedown pins were known to fall out. That definitely doesn't happen to mine.
It shoots great and I'm pretty happy with my accuracy with the gun.

I loved my BG380: reliable, super easy and fun to shoot, surprisingly accurate and fit right in any pocket I carried it in. Then I got a PPS. I realized that with minor adjustments to dress and carry strategy I could carry the PPS everywhere the BG 380 went, but I had 13 rounds of .40 on me rather than 13 rounds of .380.
The G23 I traded the BG 380 for shoots great!
In all seriousness, though, the BG .380 is a great little gun if you're into .380.

Well I bought my bg380 and id have to say it's not a fun gun to shoot! Buy given its purpose it will get the job done, also I've never shot a 380 and the short two fingered didn't bother much it was more the combination of trigger pull and slim grip. Either way gun shot a flawless 80 some rounds but I quickly moved over my Shield and felt better about my grouping with it. Shield recoil is amazingly soft and gun is crazy accurate. BG380 held its own I just need more practice.

For a .380, the BG is one of the very best; it has very good sights, the right trigger for a pocket gun (IMO) and runs on everything except some of the hard primer foreign stuff. The factory corrected any laser issues i had.
Still, a small 9mm or 38sp snubby is a good step up.
