Colt 1911-A1

This is owned by a friend of mine, did a complete tear down and cleaned it up.
Thought some of you might like to see it.

I was pretty fascinated with it, enjoyed cleaning it up.
Best I can tell from a little research it was made around 1942 ?

Yes, it's early 1942. Did you check to see if there is a matching serial number on the slide, underneath the firing pin stop plate? Also the correct barrel should say "COLT 45 AUTO" down near the bottom lug, with a "G" in front of the lug. If it's all matching it's worth around $2000.

Nice! That would be a 1911A1 not 1911-A1. 1911-A1 is what S. A. calls it.

Yes the #'s match and I just found out there's also a 22 upper with mags and a holster from the same time period!
