Trijicon HD's on a Gen 2 Glock 19 ???

I have a Gen 2 Glock 19 (1993 vintage) with dim night sights.
Will Trijicon HD's be a direct replacement ???

Yes...as long as they are the model designated for a G19. I think the HDs are gimmicky in my honest opinion...just another avenue of profit for Trijicon. hth

They cost too much IMO. Get some three dot's or XS big dot's.

I have them on my 19 and 21, love them 19 is yellow front 21 is orange front, both are great! Look for them on Amazon and I got them for 115!

I just got a set for my 23 (same size as the 19) and I love em. I went with the yellow front sight. I’ll post a pic this weekend.

They are not a gimmick in my opinion. I have used many other sights, and by far the HD's are the best I've used bar none!

I have them on 2 of my Glocks, and will be putting them on a 3rd. I had them on a Gen 2 17 and they worked perfect, I just took them off before I sold it though.

To me anyways, they are the best of 2 worlds. You get the big orange dot up front for getting on target fast, like the Big Dot's, but you also have the accuracy of a 3 dot system that the Big Dot's don't have.

I have a pair on my S&W M&P 40c and feel that they are the best sights to come down the pike in awhile!!!
I put a pair on a 23 and my neighbor like the gun so well,he insisted that I sell him THAT gun..so I did.

If you are a fan of HD sights and price is a concern, look at Ameriglo i-Dot Pro or Pro Operator. They are cheaper than HD's and Ameriglo uses trijicon inserts. Price is on par with the big dots from what I have seen.

I would say marketing/hype has a lot to do with it.I wouldn't buy a dang mercedes either.

I'm not saying they're bad products, heck, I bet they work great, they're just a little hokey and over priced in my opinion.

I think the only thing Gimmick or Hokey about them, is the fact that they called them "HD" aside from that, IMHO, the product itself lives up to it's claims. Like I said, I have used just about everything out there, Big Dot's, TFO's, standard Trijicons, Ameriglo's, you name it. These by far are my favorite!

I would agree the Ameriglo's are a great alternative if you don't want to shell out the dough for the HD's. TFO"s are pretty good to, but I really want my rear sight's to have a good ledge on them for 1 handed racking. The HD's really excel in this area as well.

Of course...big front dots are not desired for any type of target shooting, big front dots are great for fast 'general' target acquisition. Also Trijicon already offers contrasting sight options.

Plus the ring on the HDs is glow-paint...it needs light to charge...not good when carrying in a holster, can't just ask the bad guy to wait while the street light charges the glow paint. The HDs are not a Mercedes of sights by no means, but they do carry the price tag which is over 20% of the cost of the pistol.

You have another option if the OEM sights are Trijicons, and that is to send the slide to Trijicon and have the lamps replaced. Cost is $18 per lamp, or $54 for all three. You can go to the Trijicon website and request an RMA. I had mine back in about 10 days, and the sights work just like they did when new.
