I got a Shield and here it is
I got a new S&W Shield . I am a "die hard" Glock fan and I love Gaston Glock's pistol design . I have carried his design in the G22 for 15 yrs now and it has served me well and I will continue to carry it . I just got a new S&W Shield and just wanted to show you guys. When I am not at work I carry a G30 with a flush fitting mag and here it is with the M&P Shield. WOW this thing is quite thin ! I am and always will be a Glock fan but this M&P is quite a nice pistol . I am not sure why Glock has'nt got on the band wagon , I know they have their own ways of doing things , but this M&P is a great pistol. I sure hope Glock does it and does it better than the Gen 4 thing. With all the failures and such , hopefully things will go good. If they do I'll buy it in a heartbeat . Here is my G30 with my new M&P Shield.

Congrats on the new Shield. I'm still breaking mine in, but it's done really well so far. The thing for me now is trying to locate magazines at a decent price!
Enjoy the new S&W!

The Shield certainly looks thin compared to the Glock. And tempting.

I'll most likely get one at some point too.
I just bought the M&P 9c about three months ago, and I love it. It's the same size as the Shield, but about a half inch thicker and heavier.

My single stack micro is a Kahr MK40 Elite.
It's hardly thicker than a deck of cards throws 40s.
A super sweet, reliable, high quality pistol.
But 5+1 just gives me the heebie jeebies.
I carry it as a backup to my G27.
I can see something like that as a pocket pistol.
But on a belt I want and carry double stack.

Anyone have pics of it next to a g26? A g30 is a fatty even compared to a 26.

G30 vs G26 - You can have the fat sister. I put a 357 barrel in my G27.
Plus gun and two high cap spare mags. Filled with 230 vs 125 gr bullets.
And that cow of a sister weighs just like she looks - LOL.

Got one this week. Haven't had a chance to shoot it as I'm focused on the Dayton GSSF Match next month, but I look forward to shooting it after the match. I have dried fired it and I am impressed by the trigger more than the first M&P I have. If S&W does improve the triggers on all M&Ps' as good as the Shield Glock is going to have more to worry about.

I think they improved the triggers on all the new M&Ps 'cause I love the trigger on my 9c.
I also have a pocket pistol, a Ruger LCP .380, as well as the M&P 9c, so I don't really need a Shield. Just want one.

A lot of people seem to do that on GT when they find a gun they like better then a Glock. Maybe they are afraid of offending the Glock gods if they don't pay some homage to "perfection"

It's not all about capacity.
