I fell immediately in love with the Sig Sauer P229 and Gen 4 Glock 19. I got my PX4 Fullsize as a gift, but I'd have fallen in love with it too.
I hated two Springfields. EMP and XDM-40 Fullsize. Huge bummer on the XDM. Excellent firearms, and 16+1 capacity is amazing, but it felt like a top-heavy bar of soap in my hand.

Just about any pre-lock Smith and Wesson revolver gets the nod......
I'll have to agree with the Hi-Point.....didn't do a thing for me......and that carbine is butt-ugly. I do understand that they fill a niche, though.....

For me the Hi-Point is more like a rusted old Datsun. I don't hate it violently like I hate the neon-green Corolla with a giant spoiler. I just kinda turn my nose up at it.

When I first picked up a Glock I hated it! For some reason I was in the anti glock wagon. After giving them a chance and now owning my second one I love this darn thing and will never be without a glock!
I've picked up some guns before and fell in love, not sure if your just talking pistols though. Few I've hated from fondling them.
Guns I loved off the bat even though I've never shot them...
A browning a bolt!
A High power.
Any AR because I love to fondle them lol.
Ruger revolvers such as the SP and GP frames even though I have no use for such gun bit there built like a tank!
Many more I'm sure but that's just the list off the top of my head.
Guns I've hated...
Not to many because I like to give a gun a shot if I have the opportunity, no pun intended.
As far as handling I'm not a fan of the XD's but I'd love to shoot one.
That's my 2 cents.
A.J.

The good: old Luger, BHP, PS90.
The bad: Rossi Ranchhand - love the look, but can't decide how to hold/fire it?
NAA minis - you can see the quality, but too small to get a grip on.
Range Officer - somebody took a nice Mil-Spec and hung a huge drive-in-movie-screen rear sight on it.
Anything Bisley.

don't like
Would not bother to pick up a highpoint. Calibers like GAPs, or 327 or really any of the WSM's. A lever action rifle in .410? (9410) why? Don't even like Judges etc. Just old age I think. Now show me a nice 1911, BHP, 30-06 A bolt medallion or any rifle in a standard caliber with checkered hardwood stock. Or S&W model 27. Old school stuff, but I can see the beauty of a Glock.

Recently for me I really liked the P30, HK45C and the USP45.
I really didn't like the way the XD line felt in my hand.

I wanted to like a Beretta 21A, but first time I worked the trigger I knew it was not for me.
First sight of a Judge revolver made me throw up in my mouth a little.
I know better than to look at the old S&W N frame revolvers. They just totally own me and they know it.

I have found the XDs underwhelming from handing them. One of the double barrel coach guns I picked up just felt too heavy to me.

I've loved too many of them, my wife frequently complains about that. Perhaps the most surprising case, of one I had never encountered before was the CZ 75 Compact. If "fit" from the first second.
On the list of "thought I would like but didn't
Colt Python. Bought it anyway, but who in the world kept those stupid factory backwards grips in production? It has to be about as awkward a revolver grip imaginable.
Didn't like the Beretta/Taurus 92 series, way too bulky for a 9mm in this day and age. Bought a Taurus anyway, the wife, being a 1911 shooter, liked the Taurus safety, (I do too) I have "gotten used to it".
I can't find one of the current crop of "Pocket 9s" that I like the feel of. forget the pocket .380s.
Didn't like the first Glock I held, still not thrilled, like eating broccoli. I have 2 now.

I felt the same way first time I picked up an XD. See if you can handle one with a loaded magazine in it though, balances out much better with one in my experience.

Glocks, XD's and most all of the other plastic mass produced handguns don't really stir anything inside of me. They are soulless appliances. That being said, they are extremely capable and highly effective appliances and I choose to carry a Glock everyday. How do I know that it's soulless to me? If I lost the Glock that I carry everyday, I would mourn the monetary value of it lost to me but not the gun itself. As for the gun itself, I would replace it that day and not shed a tear. Now if I were to lose my SIG P-210, Colt Python, or Wilson CQB? Crying like a baby....
