Comments like this always make me laugh. Yes, this isn't East Germany. In fact, our 'government' is far larger and more richly funded than East Germany's ever was. And it is filled with far more enforcement agents and bureaucrats. And these agents of the state work willingly against you. It's not like their families are being threatened or there is any coercion influencing their actions. Far more frightening than East Germany.

This might not be East Germany from a geographical standpoint, but our govt. is far more over-reaching that anything we saw crop up in the 50s or 60s East Germany....don't kid yourselves!
It might APPEAR more free or more friendly but yes...it is much more dangerous and can cause much more damage much more quickly than in the old DDR.
