True. Around here it's about the same as 9mm.
Most of our smaller shops don't even stock it and bigger shops tend to only have a few bricks on hand for varminters.

Show me store bought hollow point 50 round boxes for 8-9$ a box and I'll be more inclined to agree with you.

Even if you find sale prices close to these 22mag prices you can carry almost three to one in ammo and only have power a step behind the 9mm. All with less recoil and generally better accuracy from the 22Mag

My 9mm suppressor makes my Glock hearing safe (I don't need to wear hearing protection to shoot it), but it most definitely is not Hollywood quiet. It sounds about like somebody slamming a door hard.
The quietest thing of all is an integrally suppressed .22 LR rifle. You can get integral suppressed barrels for Ruger 10/22 rifles that include bleed-off holes to keep normal ammo subsonic. These look just like a normal bull barrel on your rifle (no longer than normal). Several vendors make them.

These are excellent points!
I Immeadiately chose a handgun but a short barreled suppressed 10/22 might just be a better primary backed up with the pistol. Big mags available, even better accuracy that's easier yo teach accuracy to inexperienced. Carry even more and cheaper ammo all while being even more readily available.
My 22m choice would not suppress so well. Maybe with those Dyna points. It that they are plated if ok for the suppressor.

Dude, relax, it's just a novelty item.......made by CZ though. They don't even sell them anymore, so it's more of a collectible than anything else.
Don't get your panties in a bunch!

Reliability
Capacity
Portability (sidearm, right? Not a big deal)
In that order.
Ruger MK / Browning Buckmark: Win on portability. Lose on capacity (I my mind), although big win with total number of rounds an individual can carry. I don't think a .22 lr auto will continue to function once it's covered in zombie entrails. If you have first hand experience feel free to correct me.
PMR 30: Big win on capacity and portability. I think the jury may still be out on reliability. If it passes, it would be my #1 choice and paired with a good bolt gun should cover anything the zombies dish out.
9mm: Glock, Springfield, Browning, Sig Saur, etc. Lots of good choices with large magazines. Heavier than .22 but lots of capacity with rock solid reliability. Many 9mm carbines to make a companion piece.
.40, .45: Loses on weight and capacity while adding nothing to effectiveness against zombies. Perfectly good if you can live with that.
*WINNER* Glock 19 and KelTec Sub 2000 with Glock mags.
PMR 30 if proven reliable would be very effective.

With all due respect, that's a terrible choice for zombies. Good many other things, but terrible for zombies.

The G19 is my favorite Glock and an excellent choice as a sidearm.
