My STI Trojan Problem

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ Now I'am curious about my STI Trojan 45 cal. with SN#--------- which I purchased from Armscor Philippines, I practiced yesterday w/ my STI Trojan .45 cal in our shooting range because as a Law Enforcement and a member of Makati City Police Shooting Team I need to know the reliability of my gun because I also carry this FA. Sad to say (4) four of my bullets was misfired (dud), I test the (4) four dud bullet in my Colt MK IV Series 80 and I'm shock the dud bullet fired w/o any problem. So without hesitation I brought my STI Trojan to my gunsmith to check what is supposed to be the problem, And we found out that the firing pin & the slide is for .40 cal., I tried to buy a new STI .45 cal firing pin in ARMSCOR but it does'nt fit the slide. AS far as I know a .45 cal pistol fits all .45 cal firing pin, STI confirmed that serial number was applied to a Trojan 45 cal and was sold to Armscor, NOT in the slide of Cal 40. I need your reply ASAP regarding my problem.

Thank you very much,

RSAKI

bro, it cannot be.
the breech face of a cal.40 is smaller than a .45,
so a .45 ammo wont fit under the extractor when coming up to chamber.
the fact that it chambered and fired .45 ammos means your slide is ok
hope this lessens your worries

kap rsaki, all STI guns daw, including 45 cal models, use the 9/38/40 firing pin. please refer to the link below:

pwedeng gamitin yung 40 firing pin sa 45. pati pala sti slide pang 40 ang firing pin caspian slides ganun din pang 38 super and 40 ang firing pin hole. baka nga mataas lang ang seating ng primer.

Solid Firepower inside Harrison Plaza Mall sells an extended firing pin made by a famous pistol smith in the States. I forgot the name, but it's there. Look for Grace. It's a bit longer than a standard firing pin and should ensure reliable ignition...that is if you're switching out firing pins.

Otherwise, have it covered under the STI Warranty, sir.

limcat extended firing pin,17 lbs main spring,12.5 recoil with shock buff, eto set up ko idol sa classic, walang dud kahit russo primers.mas less dud dapat ang 45 ksi large primer siya, mas malambot compare sa small primer, primer seating ang nakita ko dati n problema pag may dud ako sa 45,kasi ung primer pocket medyo madumi na kaya minsan hindi nag seat ng maayos.so ginagawa ko before reloading ulit,i remove all the primers, ibabad ko sa suka(vinegar) overnight(wag mo lalagyan ng toyo at bawang ha,kasi baka lutuin ni inday) /,then after that hugas lang ng water with joy calamansi, ready to rock n roll na un

Bad batch of reloads lang yan. Baka mali ang seating ng primer. Nung pinahiram mo sa akin pumuputok naman e.

Try using an extended firing pin. If it still doesn't work, bilhin ko na lang ng 35th petots yang Trojan mo kasi defective unit

19 or 17lbs mainspring lang yan. you only need the extended firing pin if you use a 15lbs mainspring.
