My new M9 and range report *PICS*
got a little present at my FFL from buds this morning. drove 2 blocks to a local indoor range and fired a quick 150 rounds. I loaded up about 20 old issued mags that still had iraqi sand in em. only loaded 5 rounds per as i mainly wanted to quick check their function. all shot withouth a hickup. the 2 factory mags i loaded to capacity a few times and wouldnt you guess also flawless lol. This pistol is amazing and is just like the ones ive been issued over the years at various times. Its by far more accurate than I am and has that classic smooth beretta function. well as promised here are a few pics to drool over. No laughing and my poor shooting. thanks for looking guys.

This last group was shot at 15yards. Not that good. I did better when i was practicing double taps.

Congrats!!
I have had my 92FS since 1992. All I have ever changed was the rear sight.
Has always worked.

I love my 92FS. It is way too big for me to CCW but is a great range gun.

Its a large gun for sure and thats one of the things I like about it. Its a simple full size pistol and when you hold it it feels like something you carry into battle. But CCW is a no no unless you have deep pocket cargo pants

There is something special about a familiar weapon. That is why I bought my M1911A1. I liked the M9 too, and it is on the list.
In the mid-1980s, I bought a Beretta 92SB Compact. It was my carry gun for many years and has always been great. It does not leave the safe much now, but it is still a prized possession.
It's looking like the M9 may hang out a bit longer in military use. It is a classic.

In all the thousands of rounds through issue M9's ive shot not once has any of them ever malfunctioned. And thats using mags stored in an unit arms room lol. I think it would be pointless to replace the m9. the 9mm round with ball ammo is obviously debatable though. in the mean time I dont mind the cheap ammo. but love it or hate it a weapon you use will grow on you after time if its good to you. Thats oddly enough kinda how i got into glocks. did a 2 week class using simunition firing glocks. a week later I went out and bought the same live firing thing

A Berretta 92 was the first pistol that I ever wanted as a kid. The lines and curves just looks so damned cool. I never did follow through on getting one as an adult, but it still holds a special place in my heart.
You made a great buy bro

I know, I have been stalling. As a aspiring LEO in my younger days I was told by the Sheriff he would not let me carry my 92. I traded it for a G23 without thinking twice about it.
Until I realized Glock just wasn't my thing. Then I really wanted my 92 back.
I just haven't got around to replacing it, the new ones with all the roll marking "will fire when trigger pulled, do not point at own head, read manual prior to shooting" etc... just dont interest me.
