Yep. And black voters as a demographic are heavily opposed to gay marriage. In CA during the 08 election, they went against GM by a factor of 7-3.
Doofus wanted the money from his gay bundlers but forgot about his base. Dumb move.
But I'll take it. Love to see a landslide push him out.

Anybody have info handy on how a state goes after hosting the respective national conventions? Charlotte is hosting the DNC this year and there may be a trend to be found.

In many ways the OWS is to the demokrats what the TPM is to the republicans... a necessary purgative. Hopefully the OWS people will manage enough organization to actually affect the dnc political agenda pushing it further to the left. This will leave middle-of-the-roaders with no real place to go except the republicans. If the republicans can manage to not alienate themselves from the mainstream of middle-class voters, they will have a real opportunity to pick up seats in the senate and house... and who knows... maybe put the squatter in the streets looking for a new residence.

There's a large number of blacks in the state, a large influx of hippies and other left wingers in the past decade or two, and a semi-sanctuary status for illegal immigrants. It's a very divided state nowadays.
