14@7 with the XD45.

First time out with the XD45, 14 rounds at 7 yards, not too shabby. Trigger isn't bad but I will need to get more use to it. Pulled one shot low/left, tends to happen sometimes. Ran like a Swiss Watch, no problems what so ever. I think I'm going to really like this gun. All in all a good, solid, nice shooting gun. If anyone has an idea of picking one up my vote would be a big "YES" on getting one.

Something else to note. Recoil wasn't bad at all even for a 30 oz gun. The PX4 Storm that I had in 40S&W actually had more felt recoil to me then the XD does and I even went with a mid-range, 180gr TC load in it but the full power 230gr FMJ actually feels milder and has less muzzle rise IMHO.
I know I've gone through 5 Glocks but I really think If I'd had gotten one "way back when" in 45acp it might have been a keeper. I really think it's not so much been the guns as it's been the caliber that was the reason why I've gotten rid of em' in the past. I really do like that big, ol' 45.

13+1>7+1 IMHO. Grab my pants, grab the gun, grab the flashlight, it's nice to have almost twice the number of rounds on tap for those "bump in the night" situations.
Still, being a brand loyal kind of guy this does set me up nicely to pick up a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec when I get back to work.

I honestly can't believe how much better I like the XD then the Glocks I've owned. I really didn't think there'd be that much difference but there really is.
Think I might try to talk my wife into getting an XD Compact of some kind in 9x19mm for her CCW gun if I can get her over her prejudice of semi-autos. She's pretty much a die hard revolver fan because they're easier for her to understand. Still, one can only hope.

I would recommend the XDM 9 compact over the XDsc 9. Its feels and shoots much better. Although Im a Glock first guy but for me my XD45compact shoots better than the G30.
