What is the deal with everyone wanting to be indian?

It's all about the handouts and free stuffs...if you are an enrolled tribal member you get free medical, free education, free housing etc etc.

I believe at this point, the one thing that we can all agree on, (maybe even the DUers here) is that Obama is whatever he needs to be at the moment.

Oh, I'm sure that this was again, people who didn't know him, pulling facts out of the air, that just happened to be slightly related to his actual background, and Obama was just too busy to check it and have it corrected.
