"Hate crime" is a very broad category. I don't see that there would be a problem with a sentencing enhancement for something under that umbrella; we do the same when a homicide is committed during a rape, for instance. As a crime on its own, where no other harm was done...I think there's a problem there.

Anyone has the right to marry any person of the opposite sex that they choose. Completely equal right to do so.
