Finally, plastic!
Received my Texas CHL this afternoon! Luckily the month and a half of wait time has given me ample time to plan and get my gear. Have a wilderness tactical 5 stitch holding my comptac MTAC with pm9 at 3:30. Going to run around and do the usual today and see how it works out. Hope to have an uneventful full first carry!

Congrats on getting it. Now don't let us lawful carrying citizens down.

While you're there, pick up the mandatory bag of Doritos to celebrate later tonight.

Great uneventful carry day. The PM9 carries like a dream in the MTAC sitting, standing, and in the car. Went to the mall, got a haircut, and stopped by Target for some button up short sleeve shirts. Walmart is just too crazy even when it's not Memorial day weekend.

Congratulations, I'm still waiting for my official card, although I have been stocking up on all the necessaries like yourself. Looking forward to being able to carry legally.

What are you planning on carrying and what holster? The wait for the plastic is the worst!

Glock 23 with a CrossBreed Supertuck with Corbon 135 grain Hollow points. Did a mad amount of research both here and elsewhere online and Corbon continually was brought up as one of the best.

Congrats, and welcome to the sheepdog side of the world.
+1 on the Wilderness 5-stitch and MTAC combo. I love mine. I've been carrying 16+ years, and find this to be the absolute best IWB rig I've ever tried.

Does that mean you never go there, or you're worried about going there while carrying? I carry everywhere. Hell, I'm in my office at home, with my 1911 on my hip. I plan on hitting the range later, but that doesn't matter. It's the only way you're going to get accustomed to it. The only time I'm worried about carrying is when I'm sitting in a crowd of people.
Last week I went with some friends to buffalo wild wings. We were in a booth, and I was fine, but a friend felt cramped. They asked to move to a center table when I was out smoking, and I reluctantly joined again. Trying not to look obvious turning from side to side, but keeping an eye on who's up my left side. Made dinner uneasy. A 1911 sticks off your hip alot more, though. I should have wore my glock 26, but I was at the pool earlier and my 1911 fits my backpack better.

I'm carrying at all times, where it is legal. I should have clarified that I am not worried about carrying in Walmart, I just don't really like going there.
