Last I heard researchers discovered that older manuscripts of the new testament did not have the serpent handling verses and were deemed add ons by some later person or persons. I always use this example to illustrate that people take the words too far and at times to serve their own purpose.

It happens. There have always been those individuals with the nerve to try what others consider extreme. Sometimes they fly experimental aircraft/ultralights. Sometimes they base jump. Sometimes they ... handle snakes.

Guess he missed that part of Genesis where we learn that snakes are not our friend. No, I'm not talking about Phil Collins and his band of yore.
Handling poisonous snakes seems an awful lot like you are testing God.

That is crazy when Christians do that. Jesus told the Apostles they would handle poisonous snakes without harm, which was fulfilled when Paul was bitten in Acts 28. Context is everything.

i am christian but not pentacoastal and handle 2000 snakes a day for over 30 years and don't get bitten. What does that say about me?

If you handle snakes 12 hours per day, that's 2.8 snakes per minute. I would say you're not telling the whole story. I doubt you handle them with your hands.

Try cleaning cages and water bowls all day and you have to.
Thene there is feeding dyas 3x per week. the removing the uneaten chicks and mice.
Also pairing up mates and then moving gravid feamles to a nest box. Then hatcthling time  Ohhh mannn! They all go in deli cups and get fed watered and moved around for pictures.
I would say 2000 per day is conservative.

Apparently, when handling snakes, he focused on one part and not this as well.
