You will soon be told this is an isolated incident, an aberration of an usually polite, peaceful and loving group of misunderstood people, and you in fact are a hater for even bringing it up. Then the next rationalization will be "don't forget the Crusades" which occurred centuries ago, thus Christians are just as bad.

muslims have been doing this since the creation of islam and do so today in vast numbers.

of course there will will some mention of christian atrocities from several hundred years ago, but i guess that means muslims are sub-human and havent evolved like christians whom no longer do this sort of thing?

So peaceful in fact that Comedy Central was afraid to put this segment on without editing it for fear of violent reprisal.

If I grok this correctly, based on google searches, this aired as part of an Egyptian television host throwing his support behind Ahmed Shafiq (who is a muslim), and criticizing Mohammed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood.

If that's true, I hope it worked, because it is not in our interest for Morsi to end up as president of Egypt, and the Muslim Brotherhood are in fact bent on establishing an islamic religious state (as well as being the kind of bastards who would cut someone's head off for leaving their religion) - the organization was actually illegal in Egypt until shortly after the president got ousted.

I'm also wondering if Tawfiq Okasha is a muslim. If he is, this might well literally be a muslim criticizing the acts of radical islamists.

Actually, this aired as part of a South Park episode spoofing the nonsequitor of Family Guy. The edited version had simply a black square because Comedy Central was afraid of terrorist retaliation.

Just some facts about Islam that the media never seems to mention.

-Only about 12% of Muslims are Arab. Turkey and many African countries are predominantly Muslim.
-Islam, Christianity, and Judaism originally branched off from similar beliefs.
-"Allah" is an Arabic word that means God. This is the same God that Christians and Jews believe in.
-Muslims believe in many prophets, from Adam to Jesus. Muslims believe that Mohammed was the last prophet.

For those who are interested in learning more about Islam, visit your local Mosque on Friday around 1:30. My local Mosque is pretty plain looking; just a large room with carpet.

will this be the building with the severed heads out the back? or has the kuran been edited to remove the specific part that a muslim must convert, enslave, or kill a non muslim?

How would you feel if someone brought a dog into your place of worship?

I'm non-religious, but I do respect the beliefs of others. Part of my respect involved visiting places of worship for many different religions.

If it was a helper dog, I would be happy that the disabled person came to church that day, and make it a point to compliment their dog.

Correct.

I definitely felt out of place, but after asking some questions I felt more at ease.

Visiting these places was a requirement for a seminar.

The Crusades were soo long ago, and who can even remember the numerous Inquisitions. There have been no modern horrors committed by Christians. Well except for...

Christians took part in the Rwandan Genodide. Several of the Catholic clergy were charged with participating in the murders. One preist Athanase Seromba was responsible for approximately 2,000 deaths. Both the Catholic and Protestant churches were critisized for giving moral sanction to the ethnic clensing.

See Timothy Longman's "Christianity and Genocide in Rwanda."

That was probably just an isolated incident of an otherwise peaceful religion...

Oh but wait, there was thas whole "ethnic clensing" campaign carried on by Ratko Mladić in Serbia. Targeting of Muslim families by Christians, murdering how many? 200,000? How many more were beaten, raped, and tortured?

They were probably just misunderstood.

Thought for the day:
Evil people do evil things, good people do good things.
What does it take to get an otherwise good person to do something evil? Religion.
