VT - Good place to buy ammo?
Hi. I'm going "leaf peeping" in early Oct in VT (mostly southern part of the state). Any recommendations for picking ammo at a reasonable price. I'd be happy with some .22s and, maybe, some 9mm.
Thanks,

We are going up to Vermont this weekend to a friend's cabin, but... I don't know Vermont all that well. Guns and ammo seem to be available, well, everywhere.

Suggestion
Try Riley's in Hooksett, NH on your way up or back.

You're welcome. I have been going to Riley's since 1978.

I'm from RI but I stopped by Riley's after the Concord Gun Show earlier this spring. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the amount of guns and accessories they had in stock there. After searching high and low for a decent holster for my P239 and coming up empty handed at the gun show, sure enough Riley's had what I was looking for. Nice place.

If you make it to Central VT, R&L Archery is an exceptional store and their ammo prices are very reasonable.

If you come to Burlington, stop by Datillio's. Ammo is plentiful there. The prices are high, but you can negotiate if you buy large quantities. And then there is Powderhorn, which has a very good selection. But I absolutely detest the owner, despite the nice folks that work there. I stopped giving them my business.
