Help me decided between these two heavy hitters!!

I currently carry a g23 gen 4 for my ccw, i have really been wanting to go to a 45 acp. and i have narrowed down my selection between the xd/xdm 45 compact or the glock 30/30sf. not really sure which way to run with it. any pros and cons you can think of guys? and havent heard of a gen 4 30 thats out yet either, not sure if i would want one of the first ones out anyways. lol but any help is greatly appriciated thanks

XDs 45

-slimmer
-no issues with trigger bar
-no issues with FTRTB
-better grip
-more ergonomic grip

G30

-cheaper
-easier to acquire spare parts

Maybe hickok45 could help you decide.

I am very impressed with my full size XDM .45. If I needed another compact .45 it would come from the XD series.

I wish I could honestly compare the XD to my XDM. I have to sheepishly admit (without telling the whole story) my wife mis understood what she overheard me saying to someone and went full tilt to get me the 'M" model. I have dry fired a couple of non "M"s and I am sure the M has a better trigger. I can tell you the trigger on either is better than either of my out-of-the-box Glocks. (It's also more accurate, but don't say that in front of serious glockers. They will tell you all about aftermarket this and that and barrels. I care about "buy it and shoot")

I think, if I were looking at is for CCW I would really have to think hard about going with the plain XD. Some of the goodies you pay extra for with the M, suck rocks. The holster is "OK" for the range but.... I don't find the mag holder that great. BTW why do they give you a "paddle" holster, but a mag holder you have to thread onto your belt? For plain old carry I would budget for the M and then buy the plain and spend the extra on mags and ammo.

Who cares about the junk in the case,......it's all garbage!
The XDm series is leaps and bounds ahead of the XD.

After I had hands on a XDs 45........I will have one SOON!

i really want to like the xds, thats what got me on the 45 kick when i seen it in my guns & ammo mag while back, but none of the gun stores i have been to have had it in stock. the only thing i can say bad about it would be the capacity, BUT...... it so small, i know i cant get loads of 45 acp in a small package, just trying to find the happy median, lol and no im not wanting a 1911 before the 1911 people jump in lol, ive considered the 36 but have heard of problems in the past, i beleive the lack of knowledge of the pistol scares me a little, and dont really like the fact that parts are not interchangable with the 36.

But it is nice to know you can actually tell the difference between the xd and the xdm triggers thats nice, my local GS is gay and will not let you dry fire, or rack the slide to much, pisses me off to be honest, i mean do you buy a car without test driving it, hell no. but owell lol. but dont be afraid to give some recommendations, im open for ideas.

Man i would love to pocket carry a 50AE. The recoil will probably be like Will Smith's pocket gun in Men In Black
