bg380 takedown

you need to lock the slide back first, then rotate the slide lock. at first it can be stiff, just keep the pressure on as you push down. if it still won't work with your finger use something to give you a little leverage like the back of a bic pen.
mine seems to need to rotate 180 degrees to pop out. hope this helps

If its the first time you have field striped this guns the pin will be tight. take the left over magazine floor plate and use it as leverage to get the pin to rotate. it will loosen up after shooting the gun. also another tip when putting the gun back together make sure that barrel is all the way forward then place the pin back in. Hope this helps. S&W has their own fourm as well with alot of good information. Enjoy your BG

Here is what I do...

I have the finger extension baseplate on mine. Lock the slide back and use the finger extension of the mag to push and gain leverage against the take down lever. This way I can rotate mine with a little bit of effort. In fact, it will actually rotate to about 8:00 and then I can pull it out and complete the takedown.

hope this helps

I use a wooden dowel for leverage and rotate mine to 9:00 to get it free. They are finicky in later models because earlier TDL's came out during firing. My updated review here:
