Sig 1911's

I just picked up my second Sig 1911, a Sig 1911 Bss Nitron. I already have a 1911 SSS and love it. Put 200 rounds through the new today and it was flawless like the Stainless has been. I never thought I would love these 2 pistols like i do. I hope Sig realizes they have a great thing going with these and continues with there quality!!!

Nice! Pics? I've been looking at the Sig 1911's everytime I see one.

I've had my Sig Tac-Ops threaded barrel 1911 for a while now and love it, other than the series 80 firing system, but that's personal preference. It's been flawless through hundreds and hundreds of rounds, suppressed and un-suppressed. Great pistols IMO. I believe the factory mags are checkmate and have worked very well other than not locking the slide back occasionally with the suppressor attached.

They are definitely a Super value. Last I read they barely used any MIM parts not that it matters to some. I was going to get a Sig Carry Nitron but made some money and opted for a Ranger II instead.

I almost walked out of the gun show with a Sig nightmare today. I kept hearing BAC in the back of my head saying"there are better 1911's for that price" so l left empty handed. Kind of kicking myself now. It was extremely nice.
It was about $930 plus tax.

I usewd to think that. But after putting countless rounds through the Sig 1911's without a single failure I am sold.They are extremely accurate and a pleasure to shoot. I think I am going to try the carry version next

Do the sig 1911's fit in a regular 1911 holster? I'm torn between a Colt and a sig,and the sigs dont come with ambi safety on the heritage.

No they don't. Sigs don't make Heritage...

I've liked the Sig products since they were Sig Sauer through their Sig Arms days and continue to like them even now that they are Sig Sauer again!

I really like the looks and styling of their 1911s.

Glad to hear the good report on their high quality and good function!

Yes Sig does have a BUNCH of models & they have a habit of changing specs frequently. The pics on their web site sometimes don't look anything like what you find in the gun stores.

For instance, I got a NIB G3 a couple months ago at my local LE toy store with SS slide, dark frame, extended mag well, flush cut/beveled barrel & extended mag release.

Mine has FTF's with all my Wilson & Chip MC mags, but has worked flawlessly with the factory mags, shooting a variety of my reloads & factory ammo. About 500 rounds so far.

It may become my carry gun, since it fits the Milt Sparks Summer Special IWB that I have for my full size 1911's.

My latest purchase was the Sig Nightmare Carry. My first Sig 1911 purchase. So far it's been flawless through 300 rounds. The quality of fit and finish seem to be above average for a firearm in this price range. I paid $900 for it and I would consider it a bargain.

I just picked up a Sig TACOPS W/Threaded barrel about 2 months ago and it has been flawless. I love that gun, I think that I am going to try to tighten the trigger up a little bit but otherwise it is just phenomenal. It’s an awesome shooter, hands down better then the entry level Springfield that I had. I really wanted a Springfield TRP but could not justify the extra 400-500 dollars that it would have cost me. IMHO For the money this is the finest you can get. Haters will hate but that is my opinion!!! Also, as an aside, anyone had any luck with IWB holsters??? These Sigs do not have traditional slides and I have yet to find one that seems to fit well. I am also looking for a drop rig with 1 ½ to 2 inches drop. If anyone has had any luck then please share the info…

I was also in the market for a 1911 and was considering the TRP too. Like you did I didn't think it was worth the extra hundreds of dollars and picked up a STI Ranger II.. Here she is as it sits..
