To sell or not.
I'm thinking of selling my .270win to finance another buy. There's a champion at a gunshop with one in town. I have 5 rifles and reloading is a annoyance. Plus another pistol is not a problem.

If your 5 rifles are similar in usefulness, by all means dump it. On the other hand if the .270 is the only rifle dedicated for hunting application, you may feel the loss in the future. One problem I can see, is, it's hard to recoup funds, with run of the mill hunting rifles. If it's scoped, pull it! You'll just be giving it away.

I will add, if I were only going to own, one hunting rifle, it would be the .270. If I already possessed a 30.06, or .308, then the .270 is just redundant! Again though, if I could only have one, it would be the .270! That's the decision I made over 18 years ago. Opinion generated from Jack O'Conners writings.

I have but two deer rifle. A Ruger 77 compact stainless .308 with Leupold 1.25-4x as my short range rifle and a Winchester 70 Camo stainless 270 WSM with Leupold 4x12 Rifleman as my long range rifle.
I need no other since Polar Bears rarely come to Texas except by zoo. They cover the spectrum from short range fast shooting to long range precision.
And a 12 gauge and a .410 for all my bird shoot'en.
But I fail to follow that logic with my handguns!

I've never understood the "never sell a gun" crowd. It's just a gun. They make truckloads of them. Unless it's the gun your great-great-grandpappy used to fight off the Cossack hords back in the old country, it can be replaced. You might have to look for one, and you'll probably have to pay more, but you can replace it.
Sell it if you want to.
One thing I have learned. Always SELL. Never trade to a dealer. Nothing against dealers, but they have to make a profit. Sell it yourself and you'll do better.

Your property, your decision. You will never have as many guns as you want, but you should always keep more than you need.
