Hoping to Score a Nice Used P229 This Weekend!

Put in an inquiry on a 2-tone Sig P299 today at my LGS... This one is about 90-95%, no tac rail, 2 mags & Box for $499!! Does this sound a little too good to be true guys? I'm not sure of it's sold just yet, but it looks really nice!! I'm thinking it a pretty good deal considering W-German P-229's they have in their case are ~$550 and they're BEAT THE $&*# UP!

What'd u guys think?

Sounds like a good price..... Did you get to inspect the pistol? I would have liked to have field stripped the pistol and looked at the frame rails before offering to buy it. If Sigs arn't well lubed, that's where you are going to find wear.....

I paid over 900 bucks to find out the 229 was not my type of gun. I love the polymers and CZ's and 1911's. There is such a long double action trigger pull on the Sig that the first round is way to tough for no reason. Therefore it can't be carried cocked and locked! Just s super tough first pull! I love any other pistol other that a Sig! Get a CZ 75 and thank me later!!

If its still available... I most definitely will inspect it before purchasing it... I like the classic lines of the P229...

I carry a SIg 229 frequently when doing drug raids. I shot a 100% with it last qualification, this included shooting behind a barricade and left handed.
