I am pocket carrying today. Its not my favorite as I usually carry a P239 OWB.

However, its 90deg and 70% humidity outside. Shorts, t-shirt, and flop flops for me today.

Got the 442 in a pocket holster and barely notice its there.

I don't really like small-framed snubbies but I'm entertaining the idea of getting a Ruger LCR .38 just for the purpose of pocket carry while wearing beach shorts.

That's funny. My normal carry is a Sig 239 in an Alessi Talon, but I've also been carrying a J-frame (S&W 49) in a pocket holster lately due to the heat. (That's why I thought to write the article, actually)

I've also been thinking of the Ruger LCR for exactly the same purpose. My S&W Model 49 is all steel so it's a bit heavy for a J frame. I've been wondering if the lighter weight of the LCR would be worth the expense to switch for "beach wear carry"

With proper choice of slacls, much is possible. With SeanJohn "Flight" Cargo pants or shorts, I can carry a G20 (yes, that's TWENTY) in a front pocket with an inner holster without noticeably printing and with NO flashing. This has solved all my hot-weather carry problems.

A j frame or LCR is hard to beat for summer clothing. If I'm in running shorts I usually break down and carry the LCP.

I was drifting toward pocket carrying my 238 more and more on its own, then I remembered that god invented short sleeved button down shirts that aren't Hawaiian or something similarly offensive.

I carry in my front pocket most of the year. T. Shirt and shorts are the uniform of the day 9 months a year.

I carry a G26 daily in my front pocket of my cargo shorts... In a Robert Mika holster. I was carrying a SW 642 with Laser Grips at first. I am an auto guy and consistently shot better with my G26 than my snubbie. I decided I needed to carry my G26 for that reason alone. Then I started to compare other aspects. 10 rounds vs. 5 rounds, night sights on the Glock, quicker reloads, and flatter profile in the pocket. Yes, the G26 weights more, but with a proper belt ( I use a Wilderness Instructor) my shorts stay up. And when I wear something I can't pocket carry in, I still carry my G26 on my belt. Same gun, not matter what I am wearing out. My .02 worth. Hope it helps some, Rob

It indexed 107 today here in Tidewater. In the summer, I carry the same as the rest of the year. A G26 in a CompTAC CTAC is a good arrangement year-round.

Its normally my g33 iwb or owb for me, especially at work but lately with it being consistently warmer I find my 340pd in my pocket instead. I don't like the idea of having half as many rounds but from a comfort level the 340pd wins hands down.
