Picked up one of my favorite Sigs! :)
Last night I picked up a West German P225 with the box and all. I'm not sure exactly when it was built, but I'm thinking mid to late 80's. The P225 is probably my second favorite Sig after the P210. This example is in excellent condition with some very light handling marks. It doesn't show much sign of use, so I don't believe many rounds were fired through it. I never felt Sigs were the best looking pistols around, but I've always liked the P225's stocky, classic lines. These pistols are tough as nails and accurate.
I've been mildly searching for a nice West German P225 for quite a while and this one showed up at a local shop. I've been having a great year finding classic pistols in excellent to mint condition and I had to have it.
I'm not much for the new Sigs, but I really love these older models.
This is the first and only model I've ever owned. I never owned the P6 version either. I'm very happy to add it to the collection. Any P225 fans/owners want to chime in? Thanks.
Please enjoy the pics...

Excellent find. Congrats. I'm not familiar with the P225. It sure looks like a great gun. And west German to boot!

Congrats, bac! SigFTW is on the hunt for one of those, too. That one you snagged looks to be in great condition. Enjoy!

Gratz on a great find!
I don't have the P225, only the P6.
The main difference between the P6 and P225 is the feed ramp. The P6 does not like hollow points compared to the P255 that had a deeper feed ramp. Other than some cosmetic differences like the hammer notch, it's the same type gun. The P6 was a service (police) pistol and the P225 was a commercial design.
Both great guns.

They can be found still at very reasonable prices. Keep in mind that BAC owns a P210 and I am still recovering from buying my spare mags for it, they are northward of a hundred Dollar bill.
That is a nice P225 BAC, it just brought back memories. A friend of mine carried a P6 as an undercover cop on the Reeperbahn.

Congrats! You finally join the P225 club.
Check the date code on the bottom face of the slide at the muzzle end.

And the trigger pull weight difference. The P6 DA pull is very heavy.

Luck has nothing to do with it.
How many mags do you want? CDNN has as many as you can afford.

Mine cracked the breech block within 30 minutes of arrival. Was glad I always wear shooting glasses that day.
Sig fixed it as if it was under warranty. I had them polish the feed ramp and install tritium sights while they were at it. They reminded me it wssn't designed for HP ammo, but included the box top from 147 gr federal they said functtion-tested 100% after the repair (I think it was a hint to use heavier ammo).
After that, 1 nosedive with hornady CritDef, but %100 funtion with Remington UHD, Speer Gold Dot 124gr, and even Federal Guard Dog. I also hear Golden Saber is a good round in the p6, and that 147 gr rounds are the next thing to try.
The only pistol I've ever had fire out of battery quickly turned into my favorite carry gun.
