Savage MKIIFV's and Super Colibri's?

Hey guys, just hoping someone could tell me if their MKIIFV's will feed Super Colibri's? I'm looking for an alternative to my Henry for a squirrel getter, so I was hoping one of you guys could let me know.

Yes, not the most accurate round out of it but it shoots.

As long as it'll feed and hit a coke can-sized target at 15 yards, I'm happy.

Don't think it will work. The Super Collibri round is shortr than a regular 22LR, so the mag isn't going to work. I use a Henry Mini Bolt with Super Collibri's and it works great. I have a hunch that a Marlin tube fed 22 bolt gun will work as it works with 22 shorts, longs and LR ammo and the Marlin microgroove system isn't going to bind the 20gr projectile.

Work the bolt back and when you push foward the nose of the round will feed high. Then ease you bolt back a tad and round drops down level and feeds .

So basically you work the bolt 1 1/2 times. At least this is my experience will try 2 get some picks up to help explain when I get home.

Either way pop can @ 15 yards= no problems

Thanks guys, I think I'll just get it and see for myself. Not like the whole thing rides on it feeding the Super Colibris.

Yes, it works. I use Super Colibris in my Savage. Like the other poster said, you need to jiggle the bolt a little bit during feeding.
Once you get the hang of it, it works fine. Not really a problem for me.

See how short the round is in the magazine, and the angle of the follower?

The round is angled high because of the magazine.

When the bolt goes foward you get this

The extractor hangs on to the rim, so after the round is foward and out of the mag it drops straight down. This allows the round to then go foward and seat properly.

Hard to say, looks like you could shave some off the top of the follower. I would suggest not to use the 10 rounders(with Super Colibris) the spring is strong enough it pops the round up and off the extractor sometimes. So the then you have to drop the mag and get the round out.

Never an issue really with 5 rnd mags. You can actually just work the bolt slow going foward and hear the round leave the magazine. If you go slow on the foward stroke it will feed just like a normal round.

Oh and no prob on the pics was much easier to show you than explain.

no help on the original question here. but my model 25 marlin with 7rd mags feeds them fine.
