Wow, Israel didn't have a meeting to discuss possible actions... they just blew 'em away and are not apologizing and bowing to anyone.

Peace through superior firepower. Far less expensive than fighting just one war to defend it against a full-blown invasion. Besides, most of that money goes right back to American manufacturing contractors and their American employees.

So you're saying that supporting Israel costs a couple of orders of magnitude less than PrezBO's shovel-ready stimulus projects, and we get more from it?

For one ... how to screen airline passengers for possible threats. Israeli security takes advantage of skilled seasoned personnel evaluating passenger conduct, behavior, and background. American TSA security is a "shotgun" approach based more on not offending demographic groups than true security considerations.

My understanding from reports over the years: the Israelis showed the Americans the potential for drone recon; they showed an unconvinced US military the kind of intel that could be obtained on enemy movements in Lebanon and elsewhere. The Americans realized the potential, and used the more massive funding available to them to take it from there. The Americans did seem to discover and exploit the potential of the missile-armed drone, though.
The TOTALLY new idea is actually quite rare. Somebody is always stealing someone else's idea, enhancing it, and then seeing the original inventor steal it back!

Yeah, that's what I seem to remember also. The use of drones instead of conventional aircraft is saving the Pentagon at least tens of billions of dollars...$15 billion from the five year postponement of the F-35 program alone. Additional ROI for Israeli foreign aid.
