RRA Entry Tactical

Don't hear much about these AR's these days. I have had mine as an LEO (now retired) and still shoot it today. Any problems with the RRA or are other companies just putting out more interesting products?

RRA is generally not considered mil-spec, but they make accurate, reliable rifles. You won't find many complaints.

This. My agency bought a pile of them and issued the, but only because they got a great deal. That said, they shoot well and are a great patrol rifle.

You get a lot for the street price most people wind up paying. (Rail, muzzle brake, grip, stock, trigger...) My only gripe is the 2-stage trigger. Seems odd to put it in a "duty" rifle.

Why? I have a two stage in my patrol rifle and love it.(I have an SSA trigger, not a RRA)

RRA is fine for the most part but unless your getting a really good deal you can likely get better for your money.

Mine is a great rifle, though it doesn't look like an ET any more.

I have a RRA 2 stage trigger in my 20" rifle for when I want to shoot little groups on paper. I put in the G.I. trigger when it is time for "training." The trigger pull is rather light and probably not something I would want in a stressfull situation. Just my personal preference. Trying to replicate high stress (running, push ups etc...) I found myself firing too early when trying to take up the first stage and teeter on the second break when exhaling resulting in inaccurate shots and no problems with the G.I. trigger. Like I said, just personal preference.

That's a hell of a good reason. I'm pretty sure everybody thought you were gonna say they suck. I've got 2 RRA 2 stages and like them.

Gov't contracts

Are there still any leo/government agencies that have a purchase contract with RRA---at one time I know the DEA did.

A friend of mine had one. It seemed to shoot just fine, never malfunctioned.

The only thing I and the shooters next to him didn't like was the sound/concussion from the muzzle break. Other than that it seemed fine.

I would shop around though. There's a good chance that for the same money you could get something better.
