As a warranty replacement, Glock sent me a brand new Gen 3 Glock 19 (test fire date in July 2012). Upon closer inspection I noticed a few things:

1) frame says "Made in USA"
2) slide marked "USA" instead of "Austria"
3) Mags have the exposed metal in the mid section but are not ambi-cut like the Mags that came with the Austrian gun I had bought. Number 6 followers still.
4) Barrel marked "US" or "USA" (can't remember at the moment)
5) The finish is actually darker (black) than the Austrian one they replaced (grey).

Is there any collector value in this? Or should I just shoot and carry as normal? I had read these were not being sold in America.

No value in it over Austrian. To some maybe the other way around. Look at prices of older Sigs.

If USA-made GLOCKs become more prevalent in the United States, the value will surely go down. For some reason, it seems like GLOCK is releasing some of these out in the wild as of late. I wonder why...

However, I am sure that right now you can get a good amount for that GLOCK. There have been people that pay quite a bit for USA-made GLOCKs. If all of the numbers match, I'd definitely put the gun up for sale on GunBroker or try to do a private sale. Maybe someone with more experience buying/selling a USA GLOCK can give you a better price point.

Sell it now if you want to make some money because in a few years USA made Glocks will prolly be a dime a dozen.Back in the 80s it was the Ruger P85 only a few were released at first then a couple years later the market was flooded,same thing with the Beretta .32 Tomcat in the early 90s.Sell now before every 21yr old kid down the block has one 5 years from now.

What would be a fair asking price?

If I can make a lot of money on it, I'd be inclined to sell. If not, I'd probably rather just load it up, holster it, and shoot the hell out of it.

Honestly if you wanted to make some money list it on one of the auction sites or ask about $100 over the going price and see if you get any hits.They are popping up left and right now,some guy on here just got 2 with consecutive serial nos.

I have a couple of Glocks with serials that are USAxxx and was told they were made in America and each are 1 of 100. I wonder if anyone else has ever heard of this batch of Glocks?
