Hey bac, Can you post a pic of your Valtro?

The one gun that I have always wanted and will never have in a 1998A1 Valtro. The only person I know that has one is bac. So back can you give me my fix and post a pick of your Valtro? Thanks in advance. BTW have you shot it yet bac?

If I remember right your Valtro has the smaller writing on the slide.

Sorry for the delay. Yes, my Valtro has the smaller rollmarkings, which I feel look much better. The gun itself is a very high quality, highly collectable 1911.

I haven't seen one on Gunbroker in about two years, so there is no way of telling what one still unfired would sell for. I would think at least $6000, but if two people wanted it enough, even higher. People want them and owners aren't selling.

No, mine has never been shot. I've had the urge to, but its too much of a collector's item for me. It sits on my highest shelf with my other favorites. Its my most collectable 1911 for sure and one of the most collectable handguns I own.

Here's some pics of my still NIB Valtro 1998A1.

You asked for one, so I figured three pics would help you get your fix.

They're very pretty 1911s with an exotic flair. There's not another model quite like them.

Thanks bac, I was on the waiting list way back in the day when they were $1,100 but my number never came up. There is no way I will be able to get one now with the prices going up so high. Thanks again for posting pics, the Valtro is my dream gun.

bac, that's a beauty! What happened with the Valtros? It seems like those would be a great and continuing success, given US shooter's appetite for quality 1911s.

They were imported from Italy by John Jardine, who then put the finishing touches on them for the American market.

To be honest, I'm not really sure what exactly happened.

I think Jardine got flooded with so much work that he gave up before he burned out.
