What a GREAT afternoon!
Got out into the Arizona desert and destroyed a bunch of water jugs! I killed about 2-dozen of those pesky things while shooting about 90 of my former PD rounds--125g. Barnes TAC-XPs at c. 1400FPS--with 100%-perfect functioning.
I LOVE this pistol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That DOES sound like a great day!!! I was hoping to get out this evening but lost daylight. The summer is moving by quickly!
The water jugs and soda cans do seem to have overpopulated - there is an open season on them here in Pa too!!

That's funny--I had so many that a few piled atop spare shootingbags, etc., cracked and leaked. I've tossed all of those the last couple weeks, and I think ALL my 'old' jugs will succumb to those Barnes bullets very soon!

Indeed a great afternoon! I spent my Friday afternoon destroying paper targets - not nearly as much fun as yours, but at least I shot a gen 4 G31. That makes up for it
I really like that Barnes-X bullet as well.
What barrel do you have in yours?
Keep having fun!!!

They're so long it's tough to find just the right powder for high velocities, but find it I have--HS-6.

Storm Lake 5.2".
Keep having fun!!! TY.

ANOTHER great day!
Brunch with my buddies and then back out to destroy the rest of my old* plastic jugs. Then came home and later reloaded about 200 rounds, so I'm back in stock in ammo and have jugs to fill. Lucky me.
Again, this 31G4 was 100% perfect with both my old PD load and my hi-power practice load.

I've come to the conclusion that you are having entirely too much fun with your G31. I suggest you continue onward
Hope to have an interesting announcement about a new load from GTG Ammo later this month!

I've mentioned before that I envy you and your 125 gr. Barnes Tac-XP loads.
I don't reload anymore and Double Tap has yet to come out with a 125 grainer.
Me thinks that a 125 Barnes .357 SIG @1,380 fps would be ideal..
That's probably what a standard G31 barrel would generate with your loads.
Some people are cemented to the 125 grain bullet for the .357 SIG
and show it by purchasing Speer Gold Dots in either flavor.

I have had the identical same problem. Then I found out that there IS an expiration date on them.... and most of mine were way out of date! So I re-stocked and used the old jugs as reactive targets! Heck! I wanted to shoot the new ones after that!

Imagine something probably more powerful and for sure less cost. Best hint I can give at this time

I didn't read down that far! Funny that at the top of the same page it says @1425...
Out of the OP's barrel you would probably pick up 80+ FPS and a stock G31, being closer to 4.5" would probably split the difference... maybe close to 1350...
Looking forward to the new GTG load!!!
