Old school Sig

Just snagged this older Sig P226. It appears to be a early 90s (91) version with internal extractor. The seller sent me lots of detailed pictures and it looks to be in great shape. I have had many Sigs but never owned a P226, odd since that is probably their most well known model. I shot a friends a couple of weeks ago and decided that I should try to find one soon. Here are some pictures from the seller, I will post more when I actually have it in my hands. Enjoy!

Congrats on the excellent catch! Reminds me a lot of the old-school P220 I bought.

Yours looks to be non-rail.your chucks made a cameo appearance, too!

I'd wanna see pics of the alloy frame rails before it was a go. Otherwise, it looks great.

The pic with the chucks appears to be a different pistol.

My P226 is very dependable.

Nice looking Sig.

As Boozer said above, the pic of the pistol in the box looks different. Looks like the screws are a different type.

You got a good pistol. It was either properly lubed or shot less than 200rds. Practically new. Good score.

Now that is the way Sigs should look, maybe an option for a rail but no other junk.

Thanks for the comments guys, sounds like you like some P226s. I got the story on the grip screws from the seller. In taking pictures to put in the add the first picture was of the left side in the box with the hex head screws. One of the prespective buyers asked if he had the original grip screws. So he installed the original slotted screws and took more pictures. Best I can tell from the information I have it all looks legit.

Collim1, I am not an expert on all things Sig, but the rails looked pretty darn good to me. I have learned in buying Sigs that you should always have a good look at the rails because most of them have some wear evident in that area. I bought a P228 from the early nineties that had some pretty serious wear on the rails that wasn't properly revealed in the description or the photos. Nor did I ask enough questions.. lesson learned. I alway look at the rails now.

I have only shot one, but I did like the work that one did.
