.327 Fed. Magnum bullet weight choice.

I recently acquired a Ruger SP101 in .327 Federal Magnum. I'm looking for carry ammo, and can't decide between the Speer Gold Dot 100 grain @ 1500 fps/500 ft. pounds of M.E. vs. the 115 grain @ 1380 fps/486 ft. pounds of M.E. Anyone tried both and have an opinion or even just an opinion? I know the standard answer of "try both and see which my gun shoots best", but curious what you may think. At the moment I'm leaning towards the 100 grain.

A difference of 14 ft/lbs is nothing. I'd probably go with the 115 grain to ensure adequate penetration. The 100 grain load might work well for the summer months, though.

Yeah, heavier. It gets great penetration and decent expansion. Either would be fine though I'm sure.

.327 Magnum is a real stealth caliber. You just don't hear much about it.

The 115 grain may be the better choice for penetration in winter clothing. Thanks for the input.
