Gen one 19L

looking at a Gen one 17L. The serial number database does not indicate how many were made, but it cannot have been too many. Anyone have any idea how many were imported?

What's the first 2 letters of the serial number?
Are there 3 letters on the far right of the barrel?

DA001 through DA999 may have been the only batch of Gen 1's. I'm just not sure.

Well, there are three Gen1 G17L prefixes reported in the serial number project, which would tend to make the number at least 3000....potentially.....imported. It's quite possible that some where made and *not* imported to the US.

Quote:
DA**** G-17L 1.0 1988-04-01 One of the first 1000 G-17L`s imported per Glock. Austrian proof marks. Ported barrel, BT
DA**** G-17L 1.0 1988-04-01 Austrian marks, BTT, NON , ported barrel
DB**** G-17L 1.0 1988-07-01 has Austrian markings
.........

ED**** G-17L 1.0 1988-12-01 Ported barrel, Austrian nitro proofs on barrel and frame, ATT barrel code, black internal parts, standard Glock fixed sights.

Gen 1 17L

DannyR and Butch: it is a DB prefix, 1988. I was simply curious how many made it to the state, if that is known. I will still try to obtain it, just hope it is still available when I get back from A'stan in Jan.
