I point again to reading comprehension. Do you read? Did you read the question I was merely answering? Again, I'll quote it. It has nothing to do with myself. I was answering an honest question. Maybe you should chill out a bit mr. ruffled feathers..
Here's the question I was asked...
"Its very strange but you'll likely find many of the same folk on GT that will drop a bundle on a high end pistol/rifle/shotgun/automobile/motorcycle/boat, etc, will complain or even condemn someone who appreciates a quality, high end watch purchasing same. Go figure. Personally, I don't get it."

Most likely the very same people with the latest iPhone/Android whizbang cellular device. Would the cheap ass pay-as-you-go phone not allow you to make calls?
It amazes me, that people will poo-poo you for spending your money how you see fit, yet get so defensive when someone poo-poo's them.

Really, to each his own. I use Google voice (free) and have a tracfone in my car (6 bucks a month).
Fancy watches are non-essential bling. I'll stand by that.

I wear whatever is cheap. Right now it's a Casio Forester. I ruin too many watches at work to care about if its a nice watch. Don't wear one off of work

I have a Citizen Dive Master that my mom and grandmother bought me when I joined the Navy in 1993. It's been in a few oceans around the world and has been on my wrist eversince. Still going strong.

G-Shock 5600 military edition (blacked out). Water proof to a decent depth, shock resisitant, 24 hour clock, countdown / timer, backlight...what else do you need? I really can't stand bulky watches which is why I went with the 5600. Very light and comfortable. I'm military and it is also a pain in the ass to try and pull your ACU's sleeve up past a big ass watch to see the time. http://mygshock.com/pics/DW-5600MS-1DR_G-Shock_15.jpg

Maybe for you they are.
In certain professions things like watches, rings, cufflinks and shoes get noticed and can be the deciding factor in high stakes power plays and multi-million dollar deals.
Kind of like comparing two mechanic shops.
One mechanic has a well organized Snap-On setup the other has a plastic box full of Harbor Freight tools.
The tools a craftsman chooses say a lot about their attention to details.

Luminox. "Navy SEALS". My wife's idea. It's right twice a day; sometimes it runs all day for a few days. Yes, I replace the batteries, but there is something wrong with the watch. I have replaced the band several times, even "unbreakable" bands. I am not impressed by the watch, but more than once I've been asked "Is that a Luminox? Do you like it?". I respond "it's right twice a day and I'd never buy another one."

I use the same one at work. I did replace the band for a Zulu strap, I like it a lot better than the resin band. Also wear a g shock g100-1bv blacked out, really like both watches.
Sent from my iPhone... which probably auto-corrected something wrong

If you refer to the website, the Oyster Perpetual can be had in 26 (lady's), 31, 34, and 36mm. The 34mm models are the Air-King. The 36mm model can be had with either the smooth steel bezel or a fluted white gold bezel. Just going by the website, looks like you have to step up to the Datejust if you want the yellow gold fluted bezel (and two-tone bracelet).

Yeah, I don't think I'll ever be buying a Rolex.
You can get a new Omega Seamaster for less than half the price of the least expensive Rolex models.

It's a $4 HK watch off eBay. I made the dragonscale band. Chainmaille is a hobby and I was just playing around.
It looks a lot better than that crappy cell phone pic shows. The colors are way off.

You made that band? That takes some serious talent, and I take back any perceived insult to your watch. Forgive me.

Cops get in fights....and that happens in the streets. Long before I was a cop I did other things that paid off.
Nothing shocking about it.

Same weave as the band
I'm not insulted at all. I thought it was hilarious to throw it in with all the multi$1K+ ones.
I don't wear it much. I can't leave it alone. The weave is so flexible that I find myself playing with it.
