My Ruger 10/22s

These are my 4 10/22s.

From top down:

1. My wife's compact 10/22 with Tasco 30mm red dot.

2. My stainless 10/22 with Multi-dot red dot. Used for Steel Challenge.

3. My stainless Mannlicher stocked 10/22 with Simmons 4X .22 scope for squirrel hunting and plinking.

4. The heavy barrel target 10/22 that I just finished building myself with BSA 6x18 Sweet 22 scope. Really enjoyed doing the 9 coats of hand rubbed Tru Oil on the stock. Will be used for target and silhouette shooting.

All of the rifles have Volquartsen internals with bolt releases and 2# triggers.

Very nice collection of 10/22's.

I have Volquartsen internals in my 10/22 also.

I have been using Tru Oil on stocks for years. I once did the stocks and handgaurds on my SKS and AK type rifle. They looked good when I was done.

A very nice collection, indeed, HarleyPilot. I can't hold a candle to you, that's for sure. My 10/22 collection is limited to one! I recently bought the take-down model. I ordered the Volquartsen internals kit, which should arrive soon. Can any of you ol' pros recommend any other improvements?

How do you like the Tasco red dot? I just put a cheap Bushnell 3-9x32 on my wife's stainless 10/22 this morning. I've had a hard time finding silver scopes for a decent price. I was considering the cheaper red dots too. My old blued 10/22 is stock with a cheap Bushnell 3-9x40 and it's a tack driving, plinking machine.

Oooh, I'm jealous, I can't wait to get myself a 10/22. I'm definitely liking that stainless one, that'd be the one I'd buy.

I like the Tasco Red Dot. My favorite red dot is the 30mm Ultra Dot I have on my Ruger Mark III, but it is much more expensive at around $180 last time I checked.

I love Ruger 10/22s and think they are the best .22 rifle for the money ever built. I just finished building the target model and can't wait to shoot it in the next couple of days.

I think the new take-down models are great. Besides improving the trigger, I would also either modify the bolt release or put in a new Volquartsen one. I do think the stock bolt release is a pain. Don't know why Ruger doesn't just make this change. Can't cost any more.

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm just happy with how well the picture came out. I'm not much of a photographer.

YES, it sure is a pain! I agree with you, 100% and I will follow your advice and install the bolt catch you suggest.

Thanks for your help!
