XDm 5.25
Just bought an 5.25 45acp. Very nice. I will get to the range soon. I hate the red FO front sight, but can change it out before I hit the range to green. Wonder why red first instead of green on most FO fronts that come on pistols. I have green on all my others pistols. It came with 3 HC mags

XDm 5.25
Took my XDm to the range after reading in CH's an article on this handgun. They said it was the most accurate gun he ever shot, IHO. Several LEO's shot it last Mon/Tues.
One shot his ILEA qual course and scored 238 out of 240.
I loved it. I did not get to put it on paper yet, just tested it on steel/breakin.. Worked 100%. Great pistol

i have the 5.25 in 9MM, with stainless slide. i love it! 19 + 1 rounds with two spare mags = 58 rounds, thats lotsa firepower.
recoil is minimal, very accurate, feels great in my hand [you have three grip inserts to choose from], the sights are great, and, oh yeah, it is very accurate.
only downside i have run across, is it does not like 9MM reloads that are on the low range in power. it likes the medium to high power loads.

I have been thinking of getting the XD(M) 5.25 competition 45 model too. I want to convert it too shoot the 460 Rowland. Since it already has a cut out on the top of the slide, all I need is the conversion barrel with ports. My question is how is the trigger feel of this gun? Will I need to get a trigger job to make it more crisp?

XDm 5.25
I think you need to check it out and try the trigger. I think mine is fine, but I do not shoot BullsEye with it. For reg matches I think it is fine. I had about 6 shooters try it the first day I took it out, and they all liked it. Some new some old shooters. Good luck. I think you will be happy with it,IMO

the cut out is just to lighten the slide. it may be too far back to be very effective as a comp.

I have heard good things about the 5.25 in 45ACP. Im still on the fence, as the price is high (over $700.00)

bdhawk,I bought a 3.8 XDm and the seller at Cabela's told me that the last 3 rounds get stuck in the 19 round mag. Mine came with 6 mags and 3 16 and 3 13 round mags.

I'm considering the 5.25 XDm in 45 as a platform for 460 Rowland. True 44 magnum - like ballistics will make it a fine hunting sidearm.
