First year of CCW in Wisconsin
One incident, good guy, a Black Muslim, saved a clerk in Milwaukee from two inner city bad guys. No blood running in the streets, no road rage, no shootings resulting from a bumb on the sidewalk. My personal observations from a year of carrying my 26 is it isn't comfortable but comforting. Everyone who told me I don't need a safety is right. I am very careful when holstering but I am also never in a false sense of security. My solution, because I figure why not, is to have a number of the same gun kept in different holsters. If I don't remove them I don't have to worry about holstering them, right? If there is no manual safety I'm always careful and I don't ever have to look to see if I'm ready for fire. I've learned to like kydex holsters. I found nice heavy belts at Kohls and bought black and brown in different sizes. My commitment to myself was to carry daily, just about everywhere for the first year. I've done that. Sometimes it's a PITA but I have learned alot. I have also learned alot from the many members here. So, I just wanted to say thanks!

Only thing I would suggest is a good quality gun belt if it is ever a pain to carry. I have carried the G36 almost daily since receiving my Wisconsin permit and hardly notice it. Either the glock sport OWB or the comp tac IWB, and the switch to a Beltman belt with Kydex insert made all the difference. I am also a fan of the Wilderness 5 stitch belt. Tried a few big box leather belts and every one sagged and was noticeable.

The loudest argument for concealed carry is when no shots are fired and violence is prevented.

After a year of carrying, you still seem overly concerned that the gun is going to fire if you look at the wrong way...

Well most people who carry CCW are ladies and gentlemen - peace-lovers. I am not surprised that there has not been a lot of bloodshed.

Do you mean it wasn't open season on Blacks and Hispanics, they wern't murdered in the streets by violent racist whites, shot down like dogs in the streets? I shocked and stunned! I can't tell you the number of situations where I was about to be assaulted and how quickly it ended with the perps leaving as they saw my Para Ord P12 pointed in their general direction. Its natures way of saying stay away.

I guess not. Like I was saying - only true ladies and gentlemen carry guns.

Dude, you had to present your firearm that many times, you might be in violation of the 4s rule. 2 of those might be stupid places and/or stupid times.

I may get a G36 one day. I like the idea of a concealable .45ACP.

I would have to agree.
The problem is, those who decry gun ownership simply aren't so gentlemanly.

This has to be one of the finest quotes I've ever read pertaining to Concealed Carry!

That's a fact, for sure. The gun-grabbers are usually the most obnoxious people I have ever met.
