Question about Glock 21 sf
Hi All,
I've been out of the Glock world for about ten years. Went back to 1911, discovered the great BHP and SIGs. Recently I pulled out my old Gen 2 19, Gen 3, 26 & 34 and had a ball. So it's time to get back into Glocks. I'm looking at a 21 with what i guess is sf (short frame??) and of course gen 4 is completely new to me. Are the Gen 4 21 sf good pistols? Anything I should be aware of...problems with gen 4 etc.? I looked at gun brokers and best price was around $575.00...Ok price?
Sorry for all the question but I'd like to get it right the first time.
Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide.

The Gen4 G21 is the best 21 to date. It comes with multiple back straps to increase the distance to the trigger. With no additional back strap, it is the same as an SF. With the medium back strap it is the same as an older G21. The magazine catch is reversible and larger than older G21's, and the dual recoil spring helps tame recoil even more. It may very well be my next Glock.

Wonky, I think that you'll really like the G21 Gen4. It is my favorite of all the Glocks I own, and is so much fun to shoot.
I load my own ammo, and that pistol has become my reference .45ACP platform for all the different loads I do in that caliber. My previous G21 (non-SF) has been standing watch as my nightstand pistol ever since I picked up the new Gen4 model late last year.

Glock 21
I want to thank all of you for your informative replies. I'm now sold on the Glock 21 and tomorrow will ask my favorite dealer to order me a Gen 4 21sf. I'm very excited about this and have just ordered 4 more mags.
Thanks so much,
Wonky

Another guy here who has no use for the Gen4. They got it right with the SF in my humble opinion. Why do I need dual recoil springs? I wasn't aware that the 21 came with any recoil!!!

I like my 3rd Gen 21SF. However, I handled a Gen4 21 at the store again today, and the grip definitely feels smaller. If I were buying one today I'd be tempted strongly by the 4th gen.
I'll wait for the Gen4 G30

There is no gen4 21sf, just plain 21.
If there's even a remote possibility you might use a silencer, then don't get the new gen4. Glock factory threaded barrels are actually gen3 designs; they're not compatible with the gen4 dual recoil springs.
