Ok,....first general impressions.

Frame is very close to a standard 1911 with standard grips.
Slide to frame fit is very good, rear of slide to frame & extractor is good.
Long trigger installed, will be changing to a short. Balance is good for a 6" slide.
Trigger pull is good, would say 4# or slightly less. Very crisp, little to no creep.
Ambi safety, could do without that, very crisp & positive.
Grip & msh area has nice checkering, feels good.

...too bad I'll have no entries in this thread.

Kimber bp10

I sold this for a nice profit before I got to shoot this one.

Para ordinance p-12

This pistol turned me off to double stacked 1911's. Out of the roughly 1k rounds I put through it, I'd say about a third were ftf or fte.

Need some details on the first on Bucky!
Is it a custom build on a Caspian frame/slide?

The Kimber is a rather rare one!
PO,......stands for "pissed owner"

Para Ordnance seems to be very sketchy in regards to QC
Some run just fine, some are complete pigs! I had a P14
Limited that ran 100%. It did have some finish flaking, PO
refinished it & I parted ways with it.

Yes. it's a Custom Build on a Caspian slide and frame. It was built for USPSA limited division, and is .40 caliber with a Schuemann Bull barrel.

I had 20 round magazines for it, that I had to custom make from the 19 round factory mags. Ironically, the 19 round mags were too long to be legal, and I shortened them, but added a Grahms +1 pad (from an STI), and was surprised that not only were the mags legal, but held one more round.

I ultimately sold it to fund an EGW build STI.

Dan Bedell STI 9mm major, 5.4" KKM bull barrel (shot out, soon to be replaced), Dan's titanium comp, STI aluminum grip, RHT thumbrest, electroless nickel plated. Something like 48oz, empty. This one gets shot the most.

1911 Forums

Dan Bedell STI 9mm major, 4.75" Schuemann AET bull barrel, 2 port holes, Dan's titanium comp, SV trigger, rare & sexy OD Green C-More, Atranite finish. About 41oz empty. Hard to get a good picture!

1911 Forums

Dan Bedell STI .40, 5" KKM bull barrel, Tripp K-1 rear sight, some unknown PVD finish. About 41oz empty.

1911 Forums

Brian Hawley SV .40, 6" Schuemann bushing barrel, SV Scott grip, hard chrome by Virgil Tripp. About 40oz empty. Love these old SV frames, wish they still sold them as parts.

People malign Para-ordnance, but I've had a few of them, and my sampling has been good. For what they are, they shot 100%, and my only complaint was that they felt blocky. One of the great attributes of the 1911 design is its slimness; that's defeated by the double stack 1911 pattern handguns.

I don't have any of the Para-ordnance pistols now; I've sold them all, and probably won't get more, though I was happy with the ones I owned. I've heard about too many others who have had problems, and there are many other 1911's I'd pick first. None of them are double-stacks.

I love/hate these threads. I love seeing some of the great looking guns, and hate the fact I don't have the money to buy them.
