Found a gem

Went out today to buy a Mossberg 500, and I'm looking at a hour ad a half wait. I'm looking around and found a Glock 17 which the store I'm at hasn't had Glocks In two months. The G17 is a little more than I can spend today so I would have to put it on lay away but I think I might just pull the trigger on it. Hope no one else buys it first! Wish me luck!

I did the same thing. I was at a gun shop and the lady just brought out a new Gen 3 G19. I really didn't have the money but this shop has the best layaway plan. You put 10% down and you have 7 months to get it out. I told my wife I had no choice but to put it in layaway.

Lay away is a great way to buy a gun. I have purchased several that way.

I will be able to put little more than half down today and I have 45 days to pay it off. I only have to put down 10 percent, but will do more. Wow 7 months is a long lay away, that is awesome!

Hope you get it! I strayed from Glocks due to issues I experienced but I soon returned due to my undying interest in the things.

I was snooping around the LGS the other day and found a new G21 for $550, the last G21 that they had and scooped it up along with two extra mags! Now I have something to go with the 650 rounds of .45ACP stacked in my closet after someone jacked my Springfield XD-S.

Yep. Done that a few times myself. Of course, I never go the full allowed time on the layaway. I just can't seem to wait that long. Not the most patient person around, I suppose.

Do you mean a wife or girlfriend or do you really mean jacked as in stolen illegally?

A friend of mine bought a brand new XDs a few months ago and went straight from the LGS to a football game, someone broke into his truck and stole his guns, yes plural he had also purchased along with the XDs a Judge and it to was taken. It is suspected my friend was followed from the dealer to the parking lot where his stuff was taken.

A couple weeks later a detective called, they had recovered his XDs while doing a search warrant but not the Judge.

So bad ending to this one! I had asked when I first got to the store if they were still doing lay away. The sales man said yes except on assault rifles. So after waiting two ad a half hours when I asked if I could put the Glock on lay away the reply I got was no....... Then I asked if I could put a Mossberg I was looking at on lay away and once again the answer was no.... I was not very happy.

I can perhaps understand not alowing the layaway on the Glock right now under current conditions but certainly I think it should be allowed on the shotgun. I have had a gun on layaway at the store near me since November of 2010; however the layaway is the same process to order a gun they do not have in stock and as of yet they have not been able to get it in. But they have never stated any time limit that I have heard for a regular layaway that I have heard when I have been in the store.

Your lucky! 7 months is awesome, I wish we have a store that does that. Man, I would be buying lots more glocks & other guns! I only know two stores here- One store for only 3 mos, the other 2 mos.

That sucks! Sorry to hear that OhioGlock. The wait time at the store was 2+ hours? Must be one heck of a busy shop! I hope you're able to find another. Good hunting.
