Back in a Kahr

Just picked up a new CM9 and I'm stoked. I had a CW9 and loved it. Never had a live fire malfunction in over a thousand rounds...though the mag catch had to be replaced under warranty. I got the 1911 bug and sold that CW9 to buy another 1911, but always regretted selling it. So here I am a few years later with a few 1911's...even a small detonics combat master...but all are really too heavy (they are all SS) to carry. Started looking at small pocket pistols like the lcp, tuarus and keltec. All of them looked like toys compared to the CW9 I had and all had very inferior triggers. The Kahr trigger spoils you doesn't it? Couldn't commit to a .380 either. I think a 9mm is the smallest I want to carry, though I still prefer .45acp. Anyway, spotted a good deal on a new CM9 from grabagun.com and went for it, along with a spare 7 round mag. Gun came in perfect condition. The spare mag shipped seperately though and isn't here yet...otherwise this would be a range report. I also ordered a wolff reduced power striker spring and a spare extractor spring and pin. I know how those like to dissapear sometimes

Don't know if I'll use the RP striker spring for carry, I don't want it too light without an external safety, but for $3.50 I figured why not try one.

Great buy. My dad has the CW9 and it has been a great gun for him. I have been eyeing a CW380, but may get an AR-15 first. The Gov will likely not try to ban a pocket 380, well not yet.

PM9 here for over 6 years, 4k rounds thru it & my daily carry. I'd never sell or go to anything else no matter what I've read from others about all the " best" manufactures. Would you believe me when I tell you after all those rounds I can still count on one hand how many jams I've had ? My families lives depend on me and I depend on Kahr.

I have 2 Kahrs, a P9 Covert and an MK9. They are very well made. I am looking for a used K9 or T9 to add to the stable.

Recently acquired a CM40. This is my first Kahr pistol and I'm really impressed. It's been 100% out of the box with both FMJ and my carry ammo, Winchester Ranger 180gr JHP. Damn fine guns. I tell my buddies the Kahr polymer guns are the CCW guns Glock wishes they made.

Thanks for the comments! Got my spare mag and RP striker spring installed. The RP spring doesn't seem to make much difference, but maybe it needs a little time to set. Either way, I cleaned out the slide assembly, got just a little bit of metal shavings out of the striker tunnel area and striker itself. Trigger feels great, as great as a DOA can feel anyway (1911 guys will understand Lubed it all up with some CLP and I am off to the range today. Hope to have a range report this evening. I'd post pics but hey, they all look the same LOL.
