Announcement to all those who would label me a left-winger

It strikes me as interesting that some folks on this forum see my posts supporting Obama this election, and right off I am labeled an extreme left-wing socialist Marxist Stalinist Leninist, Che Guevarra-t-shirt wearing pinko, lazy pothead hippie, etc., etc.

But I guess this is, after all, a gun forum.

Among my friends, I'm viewed as leaning conservative. I'm probably the only one of them that carries a gun everywhere; a lifetime NRA member; that believes in capital punishment; that dislikes social welfare of any sort because I think unearned wealth corrupts the soul [I think Alaska's annual PFD payment is absurd and socialism defined]; that believes Islam is a serious threat; that thinks our government is a thousand times too big; and that would limit the role of said government in general to protecting our national borders and, when needed, our natural environment.

I believe in personal responsibility; I just don't think that just because someone calls themselves a "self-made man" (whatever that means), makes them better than someone who went to college. (As if those two are somehow incompatible).

I just happen to also like strong environmental controls because I spend most of my time outdoors and have seen what "business interests" tend to do to nature. Also, I'm agnostic.

I guess I am, after all, an extreme librul.

If you believe half of what you proclaim - then you couldn't possibly support Obama.

If you believe being "self made" isn't a crime - you couldn't possibly hate Romney so bad as to support Obama.

Your posts speak for themselves. Proclaiming to be The Most Conservative Guy On Your Block is fine, but it depends strongly upon which block you live.

Want to quit being viewed as a leftist? Quit acting and speaking like one.

I learned a long time ago, that you can learn a lot from someone by listening to their arguments. In this particular case, it's not adding up. Inconsistency is evident.

Then, you and Obama, understand of course, how we desperately cling to our guns and religion, fearful of enlightened change, like you and Obama are trying to bring us.

Yup. But your biggest problem is that you think anybody cares what you think.

Matt,

Your wasting your time.

One thing to remember about the Righties in GT's PI section that most are not gun people and the most of them are +40yo SWMs that still live with their Mom's and have a "Command Post" in her basement.

They are experts on the military, even though they never served, experts on the budgets even though their Mom pays all their bills ( most do not have adult type jobs ), experts on foreign policy even though they have never lived anywhere except at home, much less travel to a different city. A traveling to a different state is totally out of the question unless their Mom forces them to do so.

When the talk about guns they mean the "air soft" type because their Mom doesn't trust them with a real gun.

Yep, this just about sums up most of the GTPI crowd.

Two things. 1) You need to have someone proof read what you type before you hit the submit button. Preferably it should be someone with better grammar skills than you.
2) You need to look up the word projection as it applies to psychology. Baby steps FFR, baby steps. First you must realize you have a problem before you can take steps to resolve it...

They sure seem to understand how the military works better than you, the self proclaimed "operator." You just can't help yourself, can you?

I think that is called "projection"*.

*Projection is defined as "the process of unwittingly attributing one's own traits, attitudes or subjective processes to others" (English & English, 1958).

Here is the book you can read to find out about that.

1811, I tried to tell him the same thing. I wanted him to go look it up. Studies have shown that one will retain information more easily if one researches the information rather than being spoon fed said info.

Don't pee on our legs and tell us its raining.

After all, Chuck Schumer says he supports the second Amendment. We are not impressed.
