prevents dirt/debris from entering the trigger assembly. helps guide the magazine when loading.

Newbie question of no value to this thread: What's a grip plug?

Something like this. Just a plug for the hole behind the mag well.

I always ride 4 wheelers with a glock due to how muddy I get. I like the plug to help keep out some dirt etc that the tires throw up into the back of the gun.

IMHO, this is something Glock should install at the factory, or at least include it in the box.

It keeps the crud out of the gun and it looks a heck of a lot better too.

I have them in all but my Glock 27. I couldn't get the butt plug to stay in!

It's a plug you put into the gaping hole on the bottom of your grip frame, behind the mag well. It helps keep dirt and debris out of the trigger assembly, makes the gun more aesthetically pleasing, and can act like a feed ramp to help you insert the magazine.

It can be done with just a dab of Silicon (bathtub) sealant.

I personally don't like to add things to my gun that aren't really functional. If you think the plug will somehow "seal" out debris, hold your Glock up sideways to a bright light source and see everywhere debris could enter (more easily than the "hole"). Want more proof. Carry and shoot for a while without the plug, strip and and examine, clean, then do the same for a while with the plug. Look for the difference. Another way; take a plastic bag with a half teaspoon of flour or fine dirt with a clean gun shake it up a little with the plug, then clean the gun and do it without. Look for yourself. Not needed, but probably doesn't hurt anything. Some people just have to put things in holes. Do whatever you like with the things you own!

I like it because the right plug can make a small feed ramp to help you feed the magazine in, instead of having it get hung up a bit on the opening.

Necessary? No. Useful? Potentially not. Aesthetically pleasing? To me, yes, and that's good enough to me. But I'm extremely anally retentive about everything being as perfect as I can get it.

It's another spot to display the Punisher logo on my Glock. When I go to sell it in the classifieds I can ask for all the money because it is now a "custom" piece.

A plug will plug the hole in the rearward most part of the pistol's grip. Its a Glock thing.

I must agree with mike on this one it just looks prettier and acts as a mag feed ramp plus there's some out there that have designs on them it's like changing out the little panel on the back just aesthetics really

There's someone on eBay who buys Lone Wolf stuff and then lasers designs into it. He does grip plugs with Zombie Hunter and a body in front of crosshairs, looks halfway decent.
