Prayer request

One of our officers just retired this August. She'd been with our department for 22 years, a cop for about 25 years total, and a US Army MP prior to that. At the time of her retirement she was the school resource officer for the high school in our township. To say that she was adored by the school staff and students would be a serious understatement.

She was able to enjoy her retirement for about 6 weeks before finding out that she has aggressive breast cancer. We've learned that she is going in for surgery at the end of the October and will begin chemo next month.

Please keep her in your prayers as she enters the difficult time.

Thank you

Prayers outbound. One of my wife's friends was recently diagnosed with breast cancer as well. She had surgery a few weeks ago. She's had a rough road, but is hanging in there.

My wife got just got the 5-year all clear after colon cancer. I hope for the same for your friend.

She has you for support, so that's a help. Does she have family?

You've got it. These things are tough. I lost one of my very good partners and friends a couple months after he retired. Heck, we worked together all day, and he would call me up in the evening. We were tight. These things are hard, and I pray this lady gets through this tough time and gets to enjoy a well earned retirement.

Prayers for being fully healed and restored, and for strength to cope with what she is coping with.

Officer is out of surgery and will be starting chemo very soon. She is actually doing very well emotionally. She lives in our jurisdiction so we get the chance to stop by her house while on patrol and check up on her.

Her new, post-retirement gig is handling her cancer well and is giving her all the time she needs to recover. That in itself is an answer to prayer.

All of the prayers and encouragements have been very much appreciated. Thanks to all and God bless.

You've got it. I just finished chemo for the exact same thing, so if she has any questions, or just wants a sounding board please put her in contact with me. She's going to beat this!
